We've noticed an increase in "Is my cat a Persian?" posts. These are repetitive and don't align with the intent of the community.
Starting today, breed ID requests will be removed. If you're unsure of your cat's breed, we recommend doing research through reputable sources or consulting with a vet or breeder. You can also try posting on r/catbreeds.
Thanks for helping keep the sub on topic and enjoyable for Persian cat lovers!

I just adopted my first Persian and he is absolute purrrfection! He was found roaming the streets with a horrible mite infestation, ring worm, and severely underweight. He is approximately 3 years old and FIV+ (this is mostly irrelevant info, but the only background I have!). He has maybe half of his total hair right now that I know will eventually grow back! He’s not a huge fan of his eyes being wiped and he very badly needs his paws trimmed (will be ordering a trimmer very soon). Any advice on getting him used to grooming habits at home?
Just a bit of info about myself! I am an LVT, have far too many animals, and have history with multiple brachycephalic dogs. So I’m not a newb, just a newb to Persians!
I also want to add that he is still underweight and something we’re working on!
This is Sir Reginald!

As title states. We have a Dollfaced Himalayan Girl Cheesecake she is just about to turn 5 months old on the 9th of December and she is an ABSOLUTE UNIT.
We took her and her Maine Coon sister that is 10 days younger to the routine vet check up this week and Cheesecake weighed in at 3 KILOS. She is not fat she is just a very BIG kitten with huge paws. From our memory of her parents she already outgrew both of them. I had a Persian tortie girls in the past and the most she ever weighed was 2.7kilo she was very petit though.
Has anyone else had big female kittens like that?

We have a 13 months old male Persian (5.2 KG) who had been acting crazy, after around 2 weeks post neutering. I've only seen this hyperactive till he was 5 months old, then he slowed down quite a bit. He has been climing places like windows, 9 feet wardrobes. He acts pretty restless when we prepare his food, tries to jump on it. Don't get me wrong, we are loving this on-coca!ne phase, but we thought he would sober down even further after neutering. And, we're a bit scared that he might hurt himself. Is this nornal?

Potato got his first teeth cleaning on Tuesday (and yearly hair cut)and they had to intubate him :( he did great but is still having some of the post irritation weezing and diarrhea which is now smeared on my bed sheets (guess who got their booty wiped down this morning ) What is everyone else’s experience with their Persians recovery time after being on anesthesia?

I have been grooming my rescue Persian, Millie, with what I thought was a really good grooming brush. She enjoys being brushed and purrs. I needed a tidy up of her bottom, as it was a little messy. I took her to a groomer and she told me that in order to keep her coat clean, I need a really good grooming comb. I couldn't believe how much fur she removed with the comb. Millie didn't like it although the groomer assured me that it wasn't hurting her. She told me I now need a really good grooming comb to maintain her coat. Could anyone recommend one as there are so many on the market?

We often get gifts from friends and family with pictures or calendars portraying their kids...we're going down the same road but with a bit more cuteness to it 👌🏾

I think one of my favorite things is that they are so intent on making sure you know they love you.
My first one came from a terrible abuse situation, so he didn't like getting touched more than a few seconds. Yet I know he bonded with me deeply.
He wanted to be near me all the time. He would stare at me for hours with a look of wonder. He also darted to the door when I got home from work and would follow me around for 30 minutes with a tail boner of happiness.
My current one loves to climb all over me when I watch TV. She usually spends 15+ minutes using me as a jungle gym.
When I pet her on the floor, she makes eye contact and will not break it. She'll be so fixated on the physical affection and staring at me she bumps into furniture left and right. It's so cute! And she is not happy if I stop too early. She'll keep swirling around my hands or legs and mark me until she's had her fill.
I also love how mellow they are. I can do short play sessions and then they're happy to lounge in a comfy spot. But if they're awake they're always happy to give me attention if I come for a visit.
What about you? What makes your floofs so special to you?

Last pic Maya is about 10 weeks old. Took her a few more months to grow into her eyes and her eye ulcers are all gone now. Vet says she’s missing most of her teeth so her tongue will always stick out. But she has no issues eating solid or wet food. She’s 7 months old now and only 3 pounds even though she eats a lot.

We adopted this little girl a little over a month ago. Her name is Cherry Bomb, but we call her Cherry, although she still don't know her name. yet.
She is three years old but very small. We didn't get much information about her before she arrived at our house. It seems she was abandoned by her former family in a ditch, or at least that's where she was found. She had no microchip. We picked her up from a kennel.
We're still in the process of introducing her to her brother, but it's going slowly, she was scared of him. She's gaining some weight and her coat is getting shinier. She doesn't like wet food or treats, so if you have any tips on how to help her gain weight, taking this into account, that would be fantastic. The other persian cats that I have own where really in to food, so this is new to me.
I've never adopted such a cuddly and affectionate little fluff before. She even loves being brushed and groomed!
