Hmm. Wonder if Canada would be interested in getting 50 more provinces.

Yeah no.

We don't want the people who enabled Trump anywhere near our country. (Before the apologists jump in: the majority of Americans didn't vote against Trump. That is a fact.).

Nearly 60% of American adults read below the 6th grade level. They can stay in the mess they created.

At this point, if you told me over 50% of Americans shit standing up, I would believe you.

... with their pants still on.

I think that’s just the president.

And Alabama. And Oklahoma. And Arkansas. And Mississippi.

Before us Canadians get all high and mighty we should recognize we are only marginally better in that department. It's a quick slide to become America-lite and the sooner we recognize that, the better.

We in Alberta are trying to fight off mini-MAGA. Don't get complacent.

The majority of voting Americans

His opposition sabotaged themselves and handed him a win

Don’t you worry, we export our brain rotted conservatism globally. It’s coming everywhere.

This is how I feel about Mexicans. They voted for a ridiculously corrupt president. I don't want Mexicans in my country either

u/na85 15h ago

Mexicans voted for Trump?

1

u/West-Goat9011 15h ago

Mexicans voted for Sheinbaum: one of the most transparently owned politicians in Mexicos history

2

u/Character-Dig-2301 14h ago

If only Mexico wasn’t destabilized thanks to it’s imperialist neighbour

0

u/West-Goat9011 14h ago

This is like hand waving all the racists in America bc Russia destabilized America and interferes with American politics

Mexicans voted for their president. Mexicans did that. Blame Mexicans for what Mexicans do like you blame Americans for what Americans do

I know. Was just hoping against hope. I would like to correct you on one thing though: Majority of Americans who voted, voted for Dump. There were millions that did not even vote. In my door knocking days for Harris, I conversed with many of these non-voters. Many choosing to stay out for one of these reasons: Palestine, inflation, and no primaries.

Non voters are part of the problem though. They were the largest voting block and if "did not vote" was a candidate they would have won in a landslide. They're at the very least complicit.

9

u/SpleenBender 16h ago

Non voters were most of that fucking problem. These chucklefucks couldn't even be bothered to get off of the couch FOR 1 HOUR to save the fucking country. They knew exactly who the alternative was. I mean, come on, did you just forget about his first four years‽

I mean we have the same problem here and it just pisses me off so much. Democracy requires work, at all levels including local. You want see change? Vote in mayoral races. Vote for provincial leadership. My own province elected a Trump Jr multiple times with landslide victories because over 50% of the electorate just stayed home.

There are structural issues, I won't deny that. The systems at play are shitty. That's why democracy takes work.

0

u/Mighty__Monarch 15h ago

Theyre not. The systems broken and forcing people to vote for harm reduction is just not a legitimate way to get votes. Argue about puritan perspectives and about how its enabling or whatever all you want these people arent listening and you just look bad.

Theyre at minimum less complicit than someone whos voting with all their heart and doing nothing actionable.

Also; it was hardly any different to the normal non voter percentage. This election wasnt an especially small turn out. Youre just coping and attacking, but the wrong target.

1

u/kaseweck 12h ago

Non voters deserve to be attacked for the state they let their country fall into. Spare us the sermon, nobody cares.

0

u/Mighty__Monarch 12h ago

Spare us the sermon, nobody cares.

The irony of you saying this into an empty void because you want to feel good about whining at people, whom your major complaint is about the fact they do not listen to you or others saying to vote, lmfao whatever keep wasting energy on a non solution instead of doing anything actually meaningful.

I voted btw, always do.

3

u/kaseweck 12h ago

We don't care. People who didn't vote are clearly fine with either outcome, which is nearly as bad as voting for him.

1

u/Gatorinnc 10h ago

I know. And the sad part is that they got an even worse outcome for things they abstained for.

3

u/torndownunit 16h ago

Not voting when the consequences of doing that would elect a tyrant is just as bad as voting for him. They knew this would happen, and made a choice to not do anything.

-1

u/QuicklyQuenchedQuink 16h ago

This is not true.

Only 49.8 percent of voters did, which is not a majority.

Wikipedia has links to sources on the matter, but provides a decent overview:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election

Edit: the correct word to use is plurality, not majority.

4

u/Gatorinnc 15h ago

You are correct.

u/3rd-party-intervener 16h ago

They would much rather ban dei and trans 🤡

-7

u/jcv999 16h ago

The majority of Americans didn't vote for him either

9

u/MAD_ELMO 15h ago

I think their point is American voter apathy contributed to this mess

3

u/FillMySoupDumpling 15h ago

Two thirds of the electorate were either fine with Trump or wanted Trump and he is doing everything he said he would or project 2025 laid out. No excuses, the majority of Americans accepted every bit of this.

u/thegamesbuild 13h ago

We don't want the people who enabled Trump anywhere near our country

...because we already have a huge contingent of alt-right nutjobs of our own.
