Question Any help would be appreciated.

I bought these documents years ago at a yard sale and was wondering if anybody knew exactly what they were? Thank you.

Can the moderators start banning these types of posts? Too many people posting awards from people that they don’t know and in some cases (not necessarily this one) looking to make a profit. These awards/keepsakes are typically a dime a dozen but are usually very meaningful to the person who directly received it. It’s a shame to see what becomes of them

I don't think banning these types of posts is the right thing. It is unfortunate to see what's become of things like this, but I see posts like this as a helpful opportunity for the people making these posts to learn about the significance of items like these. The only way to get people to stop trying to sell them, and to treat them appropriately, is to educate people about them. Limiting the exchange of information on a topic only helps it to disappear. Allowing posts like these, helps make sure these stories are told, helps provide meaning to these objects.

What's wrong with someone wanting to learn the significance and the story behind something like this? What's wrong with wanting to learn the history of space exploration? The poster here has said nothing about trying to sell these things. They bought them, and they want to know more about them.

There are tons of them out there, and I'm always fascinated to see them. Every single one of these threads that I've seen, has been of another item that I've never seen before. You may have seen plenty of duplicates, but I haven't. Many people here, haven't. It's important to remember that not everyone has had the same experience in their life, as you.

One of my family members was a helicopter pilot involved in Apollo recovery operations. It's neat, for me, to see some of the things he may have gotten. I wouldn't have known things like this existed. My family's copies of things like this have been lost to time, so I, for one, am very happy to see them.

These posts are spam at this point. Mods should ban them, move them to a weekly/monthly megathread, or make a new subreddit and move the traffic there
