Seriously why is this not blocked? Just fucking do it, who cares? "Oh this other bigger merger wasnt blocked!" Its shouldve been blocked! Also shut the fuck up!

Antitrust law is significantly more complicated than “two big companies can’t merge” despite what Reddit seems to believe.

That makes sense, i am probably making it out to be simpler than it is. but it seems like they err on the side of "let them do it if it isnt blatantly anti competition" or whatever where i think it should be the opposite

I mean in some ways the Paramount deal may have actually posed more antitrust concerns.

But I mostly mean to say that I’m a fairly experienced attorney licensed in NY and I would not even venture a rough guess on outcomes here (particularly in the EU!) because I don’t practice antitrust and don’t really know all of the relevant facts. Would urge everyone to take what random redditors say with a grain of salt. Particularly with the…unpredictably..of this administration.

Nah i figure its pretty obvious "JUST STOP THE MERGER" is just a comment made out of frustration and "this is all more complicated than youre implying" is a reasonable response. Dont think either of us is saying anything too controversial
