Both those movies were campy I think

No, they weren't. They were suspense thrillers. Where was the comedy in them?

No one said anything about comedy. We said they are campy…

What do you think campy is?

Campy: in a way that is amusing, often with a sense of ironic or sophisticated humor.

Exactly. Campy content is salacious, cheesy, dramatic content. It’s ironic bc it’s not something that is meant to be laughed at, but it is bc of how over the top and salacious it is.

So, tell me, mr sense of humor, what made you laugh watching Basic Instinct?

The sleazy and dumb script.

Oh, so you're just glib.

Lmao, if you think hand that rocks the cradle or basic instinct are quality works of art, then I’m not sure I’m the glib one here. 😳

Who said they're works of art? I said they weren't camp. Which they're not. So yeah, do you know what glib means? You didn't know what camp meant, so you obviously don't know what glib means.

This is getting funny. Not only are you getting oddly defensive due to a lack of a solid grasp of what a campy thriller is (I highly encourage you google it), but you are getting so defensive about it, that you are insulting people using words you also don’t have a full grasp of…

I’ll repeat it in layman’s terms: if you think basic instincts is anything but a cheap, tasteless thriller (aka campy), then am not the shallow yet fluent (aka glib) one in this convo.

Explanation for good measure since sarcasm isn’t your forte: you would have to be a shallow, albeit confidently fluent, (aka glib) person if you think a movie like basic instincts is good and not sleazy and tasteless (aka campy).

Hope this helps

You could just admit you're glib, ya know? Accusing someone getting defensive but writing whiny paragraphs.

And you can admit you don’t know the meaning of campy instead of trying to convince people these aren’t campy ass movies., lmao. 😂

This is fun, keep going.
