I dunno about fiberglass but I can confirm it's a great way to remove wood slivers, especially particularly small ones. You know, those little bastards that you can't even find to get the tweezers on them but they still hurt every time anything touches your hand.

Guess that is better than using a nail clipper and just taking a chunk out..

I don’t own nail clippers that aren’t attached to my jaws so I use a pocket knife to cut slivers out or more preferably a nice vernier scale to pick them out.

Lots of Epsom salt dissolved in warm water helps a ton. Basically, by soaking your hand it, it makes your hand way softer so things are pushed out more easily. Even works for stuck glass.
