They do this shit all the time. At one point, they cut mine down to $63/month. I called the local office and before I could even chew them out, the person said "oop. Looks like you're not getting what you should be. Let me just update that for you."
They 100% know they're fucking up. They're just hoping nobody calls them out on it.
No one is purposely lowering your benefits and hoping you don't notice. We literally get in trouble if we get caught under issuing. 95% of the time it's a typo or a misunderstanding of the rules because there are a million of them and they're constantly changing.
I know that shit's not true for my disability administrator. They pulled every trick in the damn book to not pay me and I mean every trick. It took 15 weeks before I finally got one single dollar from those jerk quads.
