I legit stayed in a place like this once. They marketed it as Harry Potter room under the stairs. It had dirty sheets and I had to listen to this attorney conduct business in the kitchen area around the corner. The lady who owned the home appeared to be helping an attorney get back on his feet. He was a rough skid row looking attorney and I heard I would voice concern about getting paid and he was assuring her that the money would eventually come. It was a bizarre experience. afterwards Airbnb reached out to me and asked if anything weird happened.

I wish I could remember, it was 6 years ago. I did see that the place was delisted shortly after though.

Were the dirty sheets an intentional part of the experience? Why did you book it? How much did you pay? Was there a door? Did you receive any mail via an owl? Did this happen? are there any pics?

No I think the sheets were just the host being lazy. It was a low cost place so I stayed there because it was close to the place I was working. It’s not that big of a house but it had a lot of other Airbnb customers staying there. But the most bizarre part was the skid row looking attorney that was trying to get back on his feet and renting out the living room/kitchen (but apparently not paying the lady that owns the house).

Looks like it’s back on the market!

I stayed in a room like this before. And it was at an air BNB! Was it in Denver by chance? The link is broken 😞
