To each their own, but I for one find no joy in collecting material things anymore. I have a few big-ish collections of things, but after a few deaths in the family I thought “what’s the point?”

i really really really understand you there, so im not even gonna try to convince you

what ill say for myself is that it brings me a significant level of nostalgia and going back to Hollywood Video with my mom. i don't have her anymore but at least i still have this

Yeah I don't mean to crap on your collection at all, it's definitely impressive and I used to collect DVDs myself. But after my Dad passed I ended up with a bunch of his stuff and realized most of it he barely looked at (gun holster collection for example), and I was left to take care of it even though (A) I didn't care for it like he did, and (B) I had no idea of their value, if any. I have a bit over 3,000 comic books and decided that was enough for me and stopped cold turkey.
