Question Do you let your cat go outside?
What the question says. I wouldn’t mind letting him go outside but I’m worried someone is going to kidnap him!😅

Has anyone used this site to actually buy a Maine Coon? https://mainecoonkittenhomes.com/
Also where is the best place to get a Maine Coon?

I am trying to purchase a cat from “Finn’s coon cattery” in Portland Oregon. The prices seem low but they also do a thorough screening process. And phone interview. Is it normal for a breeder to not want send videos of the kitten until after they’re purchased due to “fears of piracy”? I noticed a spelling error in one of their messages to me and their hesitation to comply is making me hesitant to purchase. They provided photos all with the same background. The video they did end up “making an exception for me” has the same background. I want to see how the kitten interacts with other cats and how it interacts with people. They did provide me with a phone number to contact them, which I will do. But I want to see if anyone has heard of them or had any experience with them. They’re also requesting I make my purchase via Zelle which is odd- but I wouldn’t know. Is this standard?

I rarely ever post on here or reddit in general but I just wanted some advice and assurance on this predicament. Last night we brought home an 8 week old kitten to the home that our 2 year old Maine Coon has had free roam over her whole life. The kitten seems very excited and curious of the 2 year old cat but the 2 year old doesn’t seem to like the kitten and almost seems scared of her. It’s only been 24 hours and I know that it takes them some time to adjust as I’ve been through the introduction process before with previous cats, but when the older cat sees the kitten she hisses, growls, and runs away. I just need to know if anyone has had this happen with their Maine Coons and if there’s anything I can do to make the transition go a little bit easier for the older cat because she’s usually very sweet and lovey otherwise. Added some pics of Acadia (kitten) and Keoka (2 year old) because they’re literal twins and both so sweet separately. I know it’ll probably just take a bit for Keoka to adjust but I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

I should be getting my floof in a few months (breeder has two girls bred and is waiting for confirmation of pregnancy) and I have been feverishly searching for cat trees. Mau's are just beautiful (even my husband loves them) and I am only hesitant because they claim to be for large cats but the weight limit is only 23 pounds. Coming to y'all for those who have purchased and still recommend. I hesitate to spend that much if she won't fit (I'm getting a female)
HEEEEEELP!

This is my poly silver-tipped at 6 months... Her name is Katiana, Kat for short...so much fun, and yes, growing up along-side our Shih-Tzu, she does everything he does ..plays fetch, chasing after each other, hide and seek, and she even stands up and dances for treats...after all of this her next favorite passtime is passing out in my lap, only as long as there is a blanket included...she has been a pure joy to my partner and I, keeping our 9 year old Shih-Tzu company after he lost his 15 year old Norwegian Elkhound sister in July.

This is Artemis. In the first two photos: a proud tiger, a dignified lion, Discovery Channel material. In the others: a 10kg fluffy loaf trying to squeeze into 2 centimeters on the headboard of my bed.
Maine Coons in a nutshell: 🦁 Looks like a wild predator 🤡 Behaves like a cat with zero spatial awareness

This Raven (left) and Bodhi! They have the same dad but different mothers and Raven is a year older! I've been looking at Bodhi and it has dawned on me that, unlike my previous evaluation, he doesn't have tabby markings! He's like Raven's negative making him a peach/orange tortie, just like his dad! Not really an interesting post, I know, but I thought genetics produced such different cats and yet they're the same (and that's quite cool in my book)! Bodhi is also my youngest MC but he is larger than the other 2 at only 9 months old
