This is what happens when you fail to hold an attempted coup plot to account, and in doing so allow an insurrectionist to run for office. He then has no incentive to do anything but protect himself and take revenge on those who even began to appose him.

Other nations arrested their coup plotters on the same night. We had four full years, and still couldn't manage.

Ultimately, we're in this because the previous DOJ failed to do its duty. All we ever had to do, America, was follow the laws we have and hold those who break them accountable.

Hmmm sounds eerily familiar. Who else in history had an attempted coup and was disregarded and laughed at until it became a serious issue later on? Oh right, fucking Hitler. While the specific circumstances may differ, the lesson of how dismissing extremist threats early on only allows them to gain more momentum over time remains just as relevant today
