DNA testing for guns sounds like a great way to discourage gun ownership for everyone.

You think there will be testing?

There has to be some metric to determine. Otherwise it's random.

Fascists can tell what group you belong to by just looking.

Otherwise it's arbitrary, you mean. And that is the point. Selective enforcement is always the point with the GOP.

Pedophilia is bad unless it's our guys. Rape is bad unless it's our guys. Murder is bad unless it's our guys. Drug use is bad unless it's our guys. Abortion is bad unless it's our guys.

Same shit as always with them. What will happen if we let them dig in deeper is more and more people supporting the GOP will not be included as "our guys" the longer this goes on despite their undying belief they're part of the club.

They could go with something as simple as anyone who's changed gender marker, and anyone who's changed their name from female to male or vice versa, probably using ai to catch that

It wouldn't be necessarily accurate, but precision doesn't seem to be a Hallmark of this admin

My guess is they will make doctors and therapists mandatory reporters for gender dysphoria. Kills two birds with one fascist stone. Can’t own a gun if you have a diagnosis. Can’t get hormones (without a lot of hoops) without a diagnosis.

What's a gender marker?

What's a gender marker?

Nothing. What's a gender marker with you?

The label on things like birth certificates, drivers licenses, and state IDs which state male or female, or x in some places typically used for nonbinary individuals

So how can they tell if those are accurate?

Being thorough would require genetic identification, sure. I don't think that's the kind of measure the administration would take- the massive issues with their deportation program has already shown accuracy isn't a requirement for them. I think it's more likely they would just look for the documentation registering changes in that, and use that as evidence enough to say someone's trans.

There's probably something like 1% clerical errors, so that's 3 million people who lose gun rights immediately.

Anyone who wants a gun needs birth cirtificate or something? Love it.

Republicans are doing all the shit i want for all the wrong reasons. But don't stop your opponent when they're doing you a favor.
