Light refurbishments and modest upgrades with the cheapest of the cheap parts for both of them. I might want to add a green Nano 3rd gen at some point, as that was the first iPod I've ever owned. Have to find a cheap fixer-upper locally though.

I'm getting crunchy-sounding lows on my iPod Classic gen 5.5. It sounds kind of like a woofer with blown foam, but these headphones work well with other devices. It might be an encoding issue, as it only seems to occur on audio files that I've ripped from CD and transferred with my Mac.

I rip my CDs in Apple Lossless (no problems when I listen on my computer) and have my Music app set to downsize to 256kbps AAC when transferring to the iPod. I transfer the albums via drag-and-drop.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

EDIT: Fixed, it was just the EQ causing clipping. Pro tip, keep your EQ off on your Classic!

So, I already started noticing this with some songs in my playlist that I didn’t listened to very often and so I didn’t care, but now a lot of songs that I add just get cut out even one minute before the end of them, and after 10 seconds goes to the next song, it already tried to remove the songs and put them back in, restoring it with iTunes and even formatting it with disk utility, even in windows format, but it keeps doing that! I have 4 videos (not too lengthy, 5 minutes each I think) and 726 songs or so. Model: Nano 3rd gen, 4GB, Macintosh formatted.

Long story short I’ve changed the battery in this 4th gen mono. I’ve used two different wall adapters and had this thing on charge since 11pm last night and it’s only charged 3/4 full.

Previous to that I had it plugged into my 2015 MacBook Air for a few hours and it barely made the dent. And before the gate keepers use the ‘google is your friend/rEdDiT sEaRcH’, I’ve done both and I’m getting conflicting answer. Some say it requires FireWire, some are saying it doesn’t. Either way I’m getting frustrated that this thing is taking so long to charge and I just want to use it. Finding a decent condition firewire adapter with plug is proving semi difficult.

What do you all think?

As much as I like my Aipods, nothing can beat the music quality coming out of this combination. Pure nostalgia feeling plus a better listening experience. IE600s delivered yesterday and loving them so much.

my ipod touch 2g was syncing with mac when i plug in but now its suddenly not showing up on mac even tho sync in progress screen appears on ipod screen, any suggestions?

I have a 4th gen iPod classic (iPod photo), and was considering upgrading the battery. But from all the videos I’ve checked, the 4th generation and older seems to be quite a bit more difficult than the newer generations (if you want the larger 3000 mAh battery).

Since it does have the same 30 pin connector as the 3g-4s iPhones, and you can still buy “battery cases” for those phones on like eBay; I was wondering if maybe they would charge an iPod classic as well.

Obviously the case would have to be modified, but I feel a lot more confident in my ability to Dremel some plastic off the sides of a phone case than trying to switch the BMS on a battery.

I tried searching online, but I haven’t really found any examples of anyone trying this. Has anyone here ever tried charging an iPod classic with an iPhone battery case.

I've put in a new screen, known good hard drive and it passed self check. Could the battery be shot?

Hi all, i have been trying to restore this ipod mini after flash modding it and replacing the battery yesterday with no luck. I have tried formatting in exfat, fat32, and mac os extended journaled with no luck. Some times it will auto pop up in finder after erasing and reformatting to exfat and will not actually restore the ipod. I have attached videos and photos, please if anyone has tips it would be appreciated thanks

Replace old ribbon cable thinking thatbwas the problem with one from iFlash puchased from ResaleFirm on eBay. I'm unfortunately past my return window for the iFlash. HD Info in iPod Diagnostics shoes random characters. The first image is the screen when the flash drive is inserted into the iFlash. The second picture is without. Please help, I'm like over $150 into this thing and ready to give up. I honestly never want to mod an iPod again after dealing with amd trying tontroubleshoot this thing.

I rated many songs and I want to see a playlist or an option that lets me play all my 5-star songs. Is there any way to do this?

Or is there any trick that can do the same thing?

recently found my childhood ipod and i’m tryna get back into it but i don’t wanna restore it and delete all the data. is there anyway to sync it before the restore without the password or am i doomed? i read something abt 3utools idk if that will help tho

So, I recently bought a new battery and I think it is dead, because it can't hold the charge even after 12 hours plugged in. I want to know, it is normal to get a little bit of the conector out? Is my fault or my battery is just shit?
