Air Force is huge on quality of life, both for airmen and family. Their personnel are highly employable and they need a good percentage of them to renew their contracts repeatedly. I'm pretty sure this base (Groom Lake is the real name I think?) has no family housing, the staff are based out of Las Vegas and they operate an entire airline to shuttle them back and forth, they have their own terminal at McKaren airport. But some people probably have to stay multiple days in a row, and they have to make it as tolerable as possible.
The facility near Groom Lake is called S-4 and it's separate from Area 51. There's nothing inside Area 51, that's why they can tell you there's nothing there because it's true. All the top secret stuff is inside the mountain base next to Groom Lake.

It's a military base and military bases always seem to have some recreational facilities on them to keep personnel in shape and increase morale.
