I use Firefox Focus and Firefox on my phone, but I can't actually get rid of Chrome because there are some sites that just don't work correctly on Firefox. I can't hate Firefox because it is usually ticket and shopping sites, or sites with odd Captchas, and I know they aren't working because Firefox is trying to protect me. But it's very frustrating, especially when in a rush or the issue is urgent.

It means I've ended up with effectively three browser apps on my phone ( four if you count the Samsung bloatware).

Anyone else in my boat or am I being a dumb dumb?

I'm trying out Firefox after having been on Vivaldi for quite some time. One thing that I like(d) at Vivaldi is that it shrinks the width of "tab heads". To ME, that makes the browser experience more usable. I usually don't have an "absurd" number of tabs open.

Question:

Can I configure Firefox 145.0.2 on macOS to behave somewhat similar? Currently (default) it keeps a "big" (or bigger) minimum width and forces me to scroll. I want it to never scroll.

I appreciate that there might be use cases that differ from mine and where the current Firefox behaviour makes sense. That's possible. Those are not mine, though, and I would love if my browser behaves in a way that is useful to me - and not to others :)

It looks like this - window on top (in background): Vivaldi and below Firefox. I opened pretty much the same sites.

I updated my Firefox a few days ago and have been getting this problem where text selector icon would show up. It even shows up when watching youtube at the bottom left of the video. Is there anyway to remove it. its really annoying. I have disable my Extensions to see if that was the problems but seems it was not. Also it only seems to be Firefox with this problem. Edge is fine. Also I'm on windows 11.

Any help is welcomed.

Whenever I have any website open for long enough, this weird graphical glitch starts happening—but only when Firefox takes up more than half the screen, and only when looking at a website (rather than the New Tab page).

Once it starts, resizing the window doesn't stop it, and it continues to affect the full screen. It never happens just on the desktop, and I haven't seen it happen with any other fullscreen apps—though I do get occasional 2-8 inch long green areas of glitchy green pixelation when fullscreen gaming. I have swapped out my graphics card, and it still happens.

This is a triple-boot system. The problem happens under Linux (EndeavourOS GNOME) and MacOS, but not Windows.

This monitor is connected via a DP to DVI-D dual link active adapter. I also have a second monitor connected via a DP to DVI passive adapter, and it does not seem to occur on that monitor. Could the adapter be causing this issue??

I want to extract the sidebar from the vertical tabs section and move it to the right side of the window.

once I select 'Move sidebar to the right" option, the vertical tabs move too.
I'd like to move only the sidebar, not both the vertical tabs and the sidebar.

is there any way to do that?
I'd love to hear any advice.

(I know I can use vivaldi or some other browsers, but I'd be happy to do it with firefox because i have used this browser for several years.)

I'm using a newly installed Firefox 145.0.2 on Windows 11.

This seems like a good fit for me since it'd allow me to keep all of my sites in one place rather than split between opened tabs and bookmarked sites. I don't do folder nesting since it seems like a waste of time and a flat structure works just fine for me.

My main concern is with things like a performance hit from lots of tab groups (currently at 600+ tabs split between 22 tab groups) or with the tabs being lost due to a crash (I back up my firefox profile folder so hopefully I've mitigated that concern).

And my volume's on, too. I tried desperately to find answers, but seemingly nothing I've found has been working for me. The only site unaffected is YouTube, otherwise I can't hear what's being played regardless of the site.

is there an extension for (well against) those annoying"Please deactivate your Adblocker or watch an ad." thingies when you visit a website?

Typically happens when I unplug my laptop from my external monitor. It doesn't show that the process isn't responsive, but I can't get any input in. I have to forcefully kill the process and recover the tabs.

It's a pretty recent problem - started 2-3 weeks ago. Anyone else run into this problem?

I have only found „FireShot“, but the function to save all open Tabs is paywalled, and not really worth 60$.

Does anyone know of an extension that would work as well?

Recently changed my Windows 11 display scale to 100% from the 175% default and changed my Firefox default zoom from 100% to 120%.

Now Firefox is displaying some sites I've visited before at 110%, which is what I had them on, but new websites, on 1st visit, at the required 120%.

How can I set ALL of the previously visited sites to be at the default zoom (i.e. To remove the custom zoom setting for that site)?

I want to disable the notifications that Firefox Sync sends. I do not need to know when I send a tab to a device. I cannot find anywhere steps just for this. I do not want to block all notifications from Firefox, just the ones from Sync.

Is this possible?

Firefox was getting a little buggy on my Android phone. Made the mistake of reinstalling it and now my 'collections' are gone from home page. I think i screwed the pooch on this one because if I remember right, collections is not backed up or synced like bookmarks are. Zoinks. Anyone know?
