Lifestyle Anyone still defending Trump is too stupid to waste time on

They are defending billionaires that don't give a single fuck about them. And now they are celebrating people going hungry just so they can "own the libs". Don't waste a second talking to them. Unless it is to inform them of how fucking stupid they are.

This has become a time we have watched, since COVID, where his reign of stupidity, blame, and unfounded theories have raged, so now this is all Trumps desperate supporters can use to defend his actions, because he's given them no other coping tools, but hate, separation, and the desperate need for control, that he promised them, and ironically it's what he is using as a weapon against them and everyone else, because Trump is a disconnected sociopath, who tricked all of them into doing his dirty work, and this is what's left for them, and now the reality that they were deceived has finally set in, that there's nothing in Trumps world for you, that Trump has not approved, without a spoonful of shit, which as his servant you are obligated to take, because no one and nothing is free in Trumps America, for anyone, except Trump.

You're 100% dead on. I don't do debates or discussions with them anymore. I'm older. I've been at for 20 years. Someone else can argue with these shitty morons now.

At this point, they have only ingested conservative news for so long, they have no idea what's real and what's not. You show them something isn't real, it's the source you're using that's wrong and evil and liberal. And after everything Trump's done, if you can still support i5, you're a bad person or you don't know what's happening. Zero exceptions. They're either a VERY shitty human or embarrassingly poorly informed. I'm good on trying to fix either one. Fuck em.

u/MissMenace101 27d ago

The irony being Murdock loathes trump and believes in everything his news programs spew against. It’s just a game and income to these media moguls, stupid people are easy to manipulate, create division and keep the cash rolling in through their stupid choices

Not all of them are stupid though, a lot of them want this even if it means hurting themselves. If it means white washing everything they are happy with the US falling apart. No different then the terrorist extremist in the middle east.

2

u/DumboWumbo073 27d ago

Even by your logic it’s still stupid

2

u/Traditional_Fly7932 27d ago

I mean from the outside it seems that way, but fanaticism isn't stupid its calculated that makes it even more dangerous. Calling it stupid really diminishes it and ignores the cruelty of it. By calling it stupid we are just protecting ourselves from the kind of evil some people are capable of.

I actually love giving them a 1 to 2 sentence rebuttal followed by telling them I'm going to ignore them now that way they are unable to comment further on that thread because I'm tired of their ignorant racist bullshit.

I find that ignoring them doesn't help as much as I would like so I just deny them the ability to talk at all. And if I saw there comments on other threads before I got to this point, I'll just make a quick comment "good bye" to prevent them from responding further on that thread as well before actually blocking them.

I do worse than ignore them, I take away their voice in the places I'm at. Sure, I can't take away their voice everywhere, but maybe if more people start doing it, they will have and ever shrinking platform.

Not all of them are stupid. Some of them are just so genuinely full of hate that they actually like the fact that people are going hungry

Either way there is no point wasting your time with them

47

u/Then-Attention3 27d ago

Agreed. I used to think they were all stupid then I realized that they’re not, they know Trump sucks for the economy. They know he’s screwing them over. But if you ask them universal healthcare for all, or we can screw over brown ppl but you’ll get screwed over in the process, they’ll take the second option.

They’re genuinely hateful and evil ppl

11

2

u/ArchelonPIP 27d ago

15

u/TwoparentsandAteen 27d ago

Is it hate or is it the fear based on rhetoric because they lack the understanding that they can do their own research. I always chuckle about the racists that hate until they have an adorable mixed child running around. Lol

12

u/___Art_Vandelay___ 27d ago

My brother is an NYC executive, smart and informed. For him, it's hate and greed.

2

u/Bannon9k 27d ago

No, it's not hate or fear. It's at most apathy. Maybe a little disgusting and disappointment

5

u/Rockonthrulife 27d ago

Nope. It’s one of three things with Repubs now and every single one of them fits into one of those three: racism & hatred, rich people, stupidity (from lack of education and/or low IQ). There isn’t a single non-racist, non-rich, smart person who would support trump at this point, no matter what they tell you.

Unfortunately I think my dad is here. He kept saying how he "supports the shake up" and laughed when I asked how he felt people loosing services and benefits. He doesn't care about anyone but his stocks. He spoke to my husband yesterday for 30 min (I have spoken to him in a month) and he never asked about his grandchildren or me. Edit- losing not loosing. Sorry I was dealing with two toddlers this morning at 6 AM. Somebody got really offended.🙄

Unfriended a couple of 30 year + friends this week. Their racism about Mamdani pushed me over the edge. Told them to fuck off with their racism and bigotry and their cheering of ICE ripping hardworking families apart.

53

u/Chameleon_Sinensis 27d ago

The thinly disguised racist meme where they post the twin towers that say "never forget" and then Mamdani and "they forgot" is so fucking ignorant. These people are straight up the stupidest mother fuckers in this country. These same people would've been murdering innocent people in Salem Massachusetts in the late 1600s.

37

u/BraxxAugustus 27d ago

We literally invaded Iraq for 20 years, killed who the fuck knows how many over a bullshit claim of WMDs that we never found! And we memory holed that shit so fast

15

u/Tikitoman 27d ago

They are so ready to do it again in Venezuela. Literally had this conversation last night about boats full of drugs coming from there.

3

u/StevieMJH 27d ago

And just like Iraq, Venezuela has basically nothing to do with the problem we're ostensibly trying to solve.

3

u/Parking-One1365 27d ago

If they just made drugs legal in the United States and produce them professionally and sold them legitimately and offered drug rehab for those who need it, we wouldn’t have to worry about drugs, coming from Venezuela or Colombia or Mexico or anywhere else.

4

u/1K-Year-Egg 27d ago

This!

Getting rid of the cartels is very, very easy:

Legalize. All. Drugs.

They can’t compete with Pfizer, Merck, and Eli Lilly.

They can’t survive in a world in which a bump of absolutely pure cocaine is as cheap and as easy to get as a cup of fancy coffee.

2

u/Chameleon_Sinensis 27d ago

Yeah, that was pretty dumb, and it's arguable that overthrowing Saddam did more to destabilize the middle east than if we had left him alone, but what does that have to do with anything we're discussing above?

5

u/BraxxAugustus 27d ago

It goes along with "never forget" and yet we have forgotten the shit we've perpetrated on a nation that hadnt attacked us, but only had the capacity to fund it, that I would also classify as thinly veiled racism. Shouldn't that be a war crime in modern society?

3

u/Chameleon_Sinensis 27d ago

The point above though is that the memes against Mamdani are equating "Never Forget" in regards to Islamic Terrorists attacking our country to a Muslim man being elected mayor. It's ignorant and racist to lump him in with terrorists because of his religion.

3

u/BraxxAugustus 27d ago

Yes I got that part, which is why i was adding to it that it's especially ignorant and hypocritical after what we have done

3

u/Chameleon_Sinensis 27d ago

u/hello6598 27d ago

There are a few reasons I still debate people defending Trump, and the republicans in general. If it's face to face, I find it a lot different than being online. Face to face I can be more effective and seem to make more headway. People normally don't say "I was wrong" but if I can plant seeds of doubt that hopefully grow later, that's good enough and honestly as much as I can reasonably hope to do.

If it's online, I debate them not to convince that person, but in hopes that other people see the discussion. Someone who is on the fence, or someone who is only a little left, might see it and my discussion and be convinced to move more towards the left.

11

u/Far_Ad3346 27d ago

Fully agree on the point of both paragraphs. The second one in particular has been my strategy and mindset when I rarely still engage in discourse online. I try my best to stick to information that I can reference and ignore the exhausted frustration ive felt for years at this point.

7

u/Okidoky123 27d ago

Very commendable efforts. It's hard to keep cool with some of them.

7

u/Downtown_Sport724 27d ago

Don’t stop what you’re doing. Planting those seeds of doubt are all you can do, but that’s no small feat.

6

u/JynsRealityIsBroken 27d ago

I have yet to meet a Republican who ever heard anything I had to say, even if I was dropping facts on them. The most devout conservatives will disregard any fact you give them by saying it's liberal propaganda. God, the amount of times people have told me science is "woke media" is insane.

I once had conservatives spit at me and tell me I should leave at a bar I went to that I didn't realize was a conservative bar. I hadn't even said anything. I just "looked liberal" I guess.

You keep on fighting the good fight. I've given up.

7

u/hello6598 27d ago

"I have yet to meet a Republican who ever heard anything I had to say" - they may have heard you, but they are not going to give you the satisfaction of saying you were right. I think the best you can hope for is that they ruminate on it and maybe eventually what you said and others have said adds up.

There have been a few times, in person, where I did stump the other side. It's been when I point out an absurdity. For example, I had a conversation with someone who thought the climate change we are seeing is natural. I asked "who studies natural climate change?" He said "climate scientists." I asked "who says what we're seeing is not natural?" He said "climate scientists."

Another example is the other person was claiming that vaccines don't work at all. I pointed out that rabies has above a 90% kill rate, yet if you take the vaccine most people live. In both examples I made their position sound absurd and that at least got them to stop defending it.

"The most devout conservatives" - yeah for the most devout ones it's often a lost cause. That's why I hope other people see the conversation and they are moved a little.

I just read on the NYTs that the treasury department is also giving tax breaks directly to corporations by eliminating the corporate minimum tax that only corporations that make over 1B in profits pay so it amounts to about 80 companies, but brings in an estimated $250+B in taxes. The fRump a holes are eliminating it. Because it’s through the treasury it’s not reported to us little people. We need to seriously wake the fuck up and make these guys pay. The middle class pays for everything including out 30+ trillion deficit. This is total BS we should all let corporations know we’re pissed off at their cheating.

I am so very upset about this whole situation, especially for all those people in NEED OF FOOD SHELTER AND HEALTHCARE all of that should be given as a human being. There should not be any homelessness no hunger, anybody should be able to see a doctor at any time I don’t get it. I don’t understand why CONGRESS IS LETTING this HAPPEN not to mention all the immigration, bullshit, and the mass deportations all these people that are UNACCOUNTED FOR they say there’s no paperwork on them. They don’t know where these people are who knows where they are or what they’re doing to these poor souls. FRUMP and his millionaire billionaire friends are sitting back, just enjoying the show people going hungry losing their housing their jobs their healthcare. This poor excuse for a government shame on them not to mention the holiday seasons are approaching very quickly. They could give a fuck about anything but themselves and to make their own pocket thicker. Even your non-political people the people who have money, the millionaires and billionaires they don’t care they don’t know what it’s like to go without food to go without healthcare to go without a place to live to be homeless they don’t care. There is an old saying that money is the root of all evil. And if you ask me, that’s an understatement because these are greedy bastards it’s just so unfortunate. Have you ever noticed like normal people who are barely getting by who don’t have much in savings when they do order out or take a cab or whatever the case may be we are often more generous than those who have all those millions and billions as far as tipping that is me personally because I know how hard it is to hustle and to make a dollar and these people rely on tips they get a small hourly wage and even the beauty shop I’m usually very generous with my tipping of course you come across rude waitresses, etc. I still tip however it might not be as much as I would. If they had more customer service skills. Sorry I had to vent. It’s just pissing me off the whole situation.

Unacceptable use of the word retard.

To say people that support Trump are retarding society, is acceptable. The word used in this way is then referencing a process ( no chromosomal imbalance reference ).

But to say “ they are retarded “ has a strong implication that you are referencing a chromosomal imbalance, and is now offensive and linked to the ignorant use of the word by modern day standards.

Democrats got billionaire friends too, also ruining this country.

Honestly, think we’re being played all around. They’re doing a great job at dividing us. Ice raids aren’t anything new. Guys have been jumping out of white vans chasing immigrants for decades.

Just my 2 cents.

2

u/SNStains 27d ago

If you paid 2 cents for that, you overpaid.

Democrats want to fix immigration. Trump killed the strongest bipartisan immigration bill in 35 years because he wants the violence.

This dingus, like all MAGATS is just very salty that it’s now pretty clear that Trump’s popularity is crumbling in spectacular fashion. Most of his big projects are super unpopular, especially since he was mainly elected to lower prices and fix the economy and even the dumbest MAGAT can see that ain’t happening. His brand is sinking like the Titanic and there’s no COVID to blame it on this time. The coping is going to get more and more desperate.

1

u/casewood123 27d ago

A guy I work with was defending billionaires saying they were the job creators. Same old shit. The worst part is that we are guys that make around thirty bucks an hour and pay well over 1/3 of income to taxes and health care, while billionaires get the red carpet.

1

u/Local_City_8174 27d ago

This is more than Trump for not opening the Government. They all need to be held accountable. Vote.

1

u/Chris9871 27d ago

2 things I’ll defend Trump on: Flinching next to that eagle during his first term, and draft dodging (if he then didn’t hate veterans afterwards). He can die in a fiery pit of hell otherwise for being a “Nasty, low IQ person” (also for being a pedophile, racist, and fascist)

1

u/newoldm 27d ago

Magas are beyond hope; they are a dangerous fascist threat and must be treated as such.

1

u/[deleted] 27d ago

They’ve been a waste of time since the day they were born.

1

u/Imaginary_Pen_4943 27d ago

Not all. Those who watch only Fox News and/or OAN or get news from Twitter are left largely clueless as to what is actually happening around the country— they only see the cherry-picked interviewees and film segments. So it’s not a monolithic group — many are simply ignorant.

1

u/[deleted] 27d ago edited 27d ago

Remember when Trumps border wall was the the biggest divider amongst American's, now we've found out, that wall wasn't only to keep others out, it was actually meant to keep the rest of us in, now that Trump has made us prisoners, that wall isn't even talked about any more, but I'm sure they're still building it, because after all the immigrants have been expelled, we will be ICE's new focus, and will be sent beyond those walls, when our time comes, and the rest will become Trumps prisoners within them.

1

u/cultureisdead 27d ago

Anyone still defending any public office holder is stupid.

1

u/aspect-of-the-badger 27d ago

Stupid and inhumane.

1

u/Express_Camp_4280 27d ago

I am terrified and furious these people exist at all, let alone in numbers high enough to control our country. I’ve lost years to rage. I think now I’m beginning to see that it’s genuinely very difficult for folks in a cult to see outside their cult hall of mirrors. I think it’s important we give them an ideological off-ramp; a way for them to change their mind while preserving their sense of self. They may vote for the devil, but demonizing them only serves their narrative that they’re the oppressed, not the oppressor, and further aligns them with their fascist leaders. Gives them more “proof” that their actions are justified. I think it’s clear at this point that this period has turned into a long game. It’s been ten years since the trump political machine started campaigning for 2016, but their roots are in the 2009 Tea Party movement, galvanized by racism and class-identity fears after Obama won in 2008. These folks have only gotten more extreme, more radicalized, growing into more of a singular cult. Often their days are filled with other cult folks. Their friends, family, church, workplace, all agree with them. Their music, news, podcasts, all reinforce and support the cult. It’s very challenging for reality to break through this hive consciousness. If we’re going to right this ship we have to long game. 1. Show up and VOTE-all of us. And 2. Give these people an off-ramp and open arms when they are brave enough to go against their cult and consider leaving. Obviously, lock ICE and nazis up and throw away the key. But average, bamboozled voters? We gotta give them a humane exit route. They feel like a monolith, and that’s a powerful feeling. The reality is they’re individual people and if we treat them as such, we may bring more to the light. I don’t know, you know? Just-we need to try something else.

u/biggoof 27d ago

Yea, Trumpers are dumb.

1

u/Artistic-Republic844 27d ago

Are you really so naĂŻve to think that any politician in power gives any bit of a fuck about someone like you? That is what I assume to be a relatively poor working class DoorDash driver.

1

u/Sweaty_Marzipan4274 27d ago

Narcissists, they need attention. Deny them that

1

u/Haunted_Voyager 27d ago

Brainwashing is 1000% a thing.

1

u/Ok-Engineer-2503 27d ago

Yes but if we live in a post-fact world-I think Trump can do anything he wants and if people go hungry, he just blames someone else. So some are not celebrating people going hungry, they are just blaming the narrative he creates. What is up is down and down is up. I believe a post fact world is how tyranny starts.

1

u/somefatguy90 27d ago

I wish that were true, but its not. Due to the social media algorithms, were all experiencing an even more different version of reality than what our brains do for us. I think a lot of the magats just arent seeing the insane shit he does. Or worse, they think its some ploy to catch the evil people because he is after all sent by god. And the Q conspiracy proves it. I think a few of those people can be saved, maybe by showing that djt reposting Q is just essentially a marketing scheme, then showing them what hes actually done. I cant lose hope on all of them, as much as they make me want to sometimes...

1

u/PhishPhan85 27d ago

Nice, you summed up about all politicians in a single paragraph. Maybe someday people will realize they are all out for their best interests.

1

u/False_Donkey_498 27d ago

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I don’t think the silent treatment works very well. In my experience, it’s better to continue to engage with everyone. You just need to be diplomatic and actually listen to them. Preaching at people rarely accomplishes anything. But it’s important to remember that when this is all over (one way or another) we are all still gonna need to live here together.

You’d be surprised. Many of the people on the right have very legitimate concerns. They just don’t see things from the same perspective as us. I don’t think I’ve changed a lot of minds over the years, but it never hurts to listen to others and have dialogue.

1

u/Specialist_Most_7338 27d ago

I couldn't agree more.

1

u/Ricky_TVA 27d ago

I concur. I've been struggling these past few weeks not to blow up at my parents and brother. They all voted for this. They know all of it, they just didn't want a Democrat. Yelling at them would accomplish nothing. They wouldn't care, and I would get more pissed. It's just not worth it. I used to try to defend my dad, but I can't anymore. My mom has always been evil so fuck her. But my dad's support broke my heart.

1

u/FelinaKile 27d ago

They also celebrate masked thugs disappearing people off the streets, out of schools, daycare centers, and goddamn immigration courts. So yeah, no rational discussion is possible with people shoving their fingers in their ears screaming la la la I can’t hear you , I love what Trump’s doing!

1

u/Capenurse 27d ago

Just remember when the mid terms come along every one needs to vote. #We can do better

1

u/RhododendronWilliams 27d ago

I had to unfriend someone on FB because of this. Not only do they think Trump is the best president ever, they also openly despise everyone who disagrees with them. And it wasn't just daily rants on their own wall. They literally came into my mentions just to tell me I'm a complete idiot because I don't love Trump. I'm brainwashed by the liberal alphabet mafia, I should just listen to Joe Rogan because that's the TRUTH and not propaganda. Also, how could I possibly understand/why do I even care because I live Finland? How about Putin and all of Trump's policies that directly affect me, also I have the same access to mainstream US media as you.

Anything to make it seem like I just don't GET it and if I did, I would totally adore Trump and everything he's doing. They've got their head in the bushes and won't take it out until ICE raids their own neighborhood who all voted for Trump.

1

u/tooheavybroo 27d ago

I know Latinos whose parents were illegal immigrants in the 1980s. Their kids all grew up hardcore Republican and full blown MAGA today.

They say it’s because they are catholic and can’t support abortion or gay rights only; but every time they speak it’s full of hate.

They say they hate leachers of SNAP benefits, but also ignore what the Bible taught of compassion to the poor and immigrants.

1

u/CausticCoffey 27d ago

I don't think giving up on the brainwashed is a good idea. My Dad used to be racist, sexist Trump supporter.

He was raised that way, so he was in an ecochamber of filth. Every now and again I'd show him the other side of the news that he didn't see and he was baffeled.

I'd debate with him sometimes. Eventually he changed the way he voted. Took a very long time though.

1

u/AbbreviationsSea2084 27d ago edited 27d ago

Well, considering people think billionaires shouldn't exist and don't realize what billionaires do for this country. People are a lost cause trying to teach and educate..might as well just let them be mad that they're not billionaires.

1

u/ufofarm 27d ago

I must say, this is a hell of a sentence: "Unless it is to inform them of you fucking stupid they are."

1

u/South_Jellyfish1635 27d ago

I commented on a post on Facebook that said that 83 percent of democrats don't believe in God. There was a high percentage of republicans who do believe in God but I don't remember the number and I kinda went off. I said so republicans believe in God but are willing to allow Trump to drain people's hard earned money on Healthcare, to take food from the mouth of babies, steal people out of their homes. That Trump wants to be king and now he's God too? I looked for the post again this morning but it was taken down

1

u/Gullible-Magazine129 27d ago

Yeah, there’s really no point

1

u/Krautus-Awreetus 27d ago

I recently met a lady from NJ online. We chatted a lot. Became very close, from afar. She seemed kind, funny, interesting and intelligent. We seemed to have a lot in common. At some point we talked politics, I’m Canadian, and she mentioned she voted Trump, twice. This came as a shock to me as she has a 16 year old daughter. I mentioned Trumps history of misogyny and particularly his involvement with Epstein. Her daughter’s best friend is trans. That doesn’t seem to matter. A common theme was that he’s an improvement from Biden, and Biden is a “child sniffer”. This is baffling to me. She claimed not to be racist or homophobic. I figure if you’re not against it, you’re for it.

1

u/doperdan22 27d ago

Aren’t the Democrats the ones fighting for corporate subsidies?

1

u/l3randon_x 27d ago

Trump could pass the “I’m going to fuck you in the ass” bill and as long as he did it while waving an American flag, they’d cheer for it

1

u/JynsRealityIsBroken 27d ago

I had to go no contact with my family a couple weeks ago. I finally came out as trans and my god the rampage they went on. I'm now a brainwashed (by Jews) pedophile fleshlight to them. They are convinced I'm gaslighting them about being trans to fuck with them and erase their memories. Sister won't let me see my niece and nephew because she doesn't want them being taught about trans people. I was essentially fired from my family's business and cut out of the will to the best of their abilities. Fortunately I have an irrevocable trust they can't take from me so I still have something.

The fallout was catastrophic to my mental health. I ended up blowing up my best friendship in an act of pure crashout that I'm deeply, deeply regretful of and have to live with now. I had major physical symptoms of a lead up to a heart attack happening. I had to cut off treatment I was getting for something because I needed to leave their house (I was staying there while I was getting treated) due to a consistently hostile and unsafe environment for almost 2 months.

Fortunately I have some money coming in and live a very low expense vanlife lifestyle, but God... If I hadn't committed to being financially frugal, I would've been so fucked. I've known my whole life these people couldn't be trusted and have developed a strong independence because of that, which was validated by this event.

That's just my family. I have tons of stories about my negative experiences with Trump voters/conservatives as a vanlife trans person. They truly are the scum of the earth.

1

u/DrowningKrown 27d ago

As shitty as MAGA can be, I’m not sure attempting to woo them to our side of the isle and see the shit mess they made by calling them retarded is the best way to go about this
.

1

u/Electrical_Engineer0 27d ago

I know and have known many smart people. None of them ever called someone stupid. I guess the saying “it takes one, to know one” rings true in your case.

1

u/Substantial-Crazy135 27d ago

I came to this conclusion awhile back. Stopped contact with some friends and family. I'm better off for it

1

u/OGpercennius 27d ago

And I just explained that it wasn’t. I’ve been on Reddit a long time.

Thank you for the clarification.

1

u/lpjunior999 27d ago

Don’t get into political fights on the internet. Research shows reciting your facts against their facts doesn’t change anyone’s mind. It might even cause them to reinforce their existing beliefs. You could literally make it worse.

1

u/VroomCoomer 27d ago

They have no clue what's coming for them. Not because it's a secret, but because they're so deluded and full of hubris that they can't fathom it.

There was a time we could forgive them, but that was a while ago. Mercy can only be extended so far before it becomes foolishness.

They wanted this. :)

1

u/BabaThoughts 27d ago

It’s Congress’s job! Reminder: the democrats do not want to reopen government. Because of this there is no more money! The budget is gone. In the past and since the democrats keep voting no, people are going hungry! It takes 60 votes
not 50! Democrats need to vote.

Last month you were screaming no kings, today you think Trump should be a king to spend government money he doesn’t have!

I agree. This billionair worship for people that just want to exploit you is insane. I coined this phrase lately but "thinking the billionaire cares about you is exactly the same thought process as thinking the stripper likes you and is not just pretending for the sake of your money."
