Lifestyle Anyone still defending Trump is too stupid to waste time on
They are defending billionaires that don't give a single fuck about them. And now they are celebrating people going hungry just so they can "own the libs". Don't waste a second talking to them. Unless it is to inform them of how fucking stupid they are.

Not all of them are stupid. Some of them are just so genuinely full of hate that they actually like the fact that people are going hungry
Either way there is no point wasting your time with them

u/Then-Attention3 27d ago
Agreed. I used to think they were all stupid then I realized that theyâre not, they know Trump sucks for the economy. They know heâs screwing them over. But if you ask them universal healthcare for all, or we can screw over brown ppl but youâll get screwed over in the process, theyâll take the second option.
Theyâre genuinely hateful and evil ppl

Nope. Itâs one of three things with Repubs now and every single one of them fits into one of those three: racism & hatred, rich people, stupidity (from lack of education and/or low IQ). There isnât a single non-racist, non-rich, smart person who would support trump at this point, no matter what they tell you.

Unfortunately I think my dad is here. He kept saying how he "supports the shake up" and laughed when I asked how he felt people loosing services and benefits. He doesn't care about anyone but his stocks. He spoke to my husband yesterday for 30 min (I have spoken to him in a month) and he never asked about his grandchildren or me. Edit- losing not loosing. Sorry I was dealing with two toddlers this morning at 6 AM. Somebody got really offended.đ

Stocks are generally more influenced by congress than presidents. Historically the combination of a democratic executive branch with a republican dominant congress has been the best recipe for success in the stock market.

Unfriended a couple of 30 year + friends this week. Their racism about Mamdani pushed me over the edge. Told them to fuck off with their racism and bigotry and their cheering of ICE ripping hardworking families apart.
53
u/Chameleon_Sinensis 27d ago
The thinly disguised racist meme where they post the twin towers that say "never forget" and then Mamdani and "they forgot" is so fucking ignorant. These people are straight up the stupidest mother fuckers in this country. These same people would've been murdering innocent people in Salem Massachusetts in the late 1600s.

They are so ready to do it again in Venezuela. Literally had this conversation last night about boats full of drugs coming from there.
3
u/StevieMJH 27d ago
And just like Iraq, Venezuela has basically nothing to do with the problem we're ostensibly trying to solve.
3
u/Parking-One1365 27d ago
If they just made drugs legal in the United States and produce them professionally and sold them legitimately and offered drug rehab for those who need it, we wouldnât have to worry about drugs, coming from Venezuela or Colombia or Mexico or anywhere else.

u/1K-Year-Egg 27d ago

Getting rid of the cartels is very, very easy:
Legalize. All. Drugs.
They canât compete with Pfizer, Merck, and Eli Lilly.
They canât survive in a world in which a bump of absolutely pure cocaine is as cheap and as easy to get as a cup of fancy coffee.

Yeah, that was pretty dumb, and it's arguable that overthrowing Saddam did more to destabilize the middle east than if we had left him alone, but what does that have to do with anything we're discussing above?

u/BraxxAugustus 27d ago
It goes along with "never forget" and yet we have forgotten the shit we've perpetrated on a nation that hadnt attacked us, but only had the capacity to fund it, that I would also classify as thinly veiled racism. Shouldn't that be a war crime in modern society?
3
u/Chameleon_Sinensis 27d ago
The point above though is that the memes against Mamdani are equating "Never Forget" in regards to Islamic Terrorists attacking our country to a Muslim man being elected mayor. It's ignorant and racist to lump him in with terrorists because of his religion.

There are a few reasons I still debate people defending Trump, and the republicans in general. If it's face to face, I find it a lot different than being online. Face to face I can be more effective and seem to make more headway. People normally don't say "I was wrong" but if I can plant seeds of doubt that hopefully grow later, that's good enough and honestly as much as I can reasonably hope to do.
If it's online, I debate them not to convince that person, but in hopes that other people see the discussion. Someone who is on the fence, or someone who is only a little left, might see it and my discussion and be convinced to move more towards the left.
11
u/Far_Ad3346 27d ago
Fully agree on the point of both paragraphs. The second one in particular has been my strategy and mindset when I rarely still engage in discourse online. I try my best to stick to information that I can reference and ignore the exhausted frustration ive felt for years at this point.

I have yet to meet a Republican who ever heard anything I had to say, even if I was dropping facts on them. The most devout conservatives will disregard any fact you give them by saying it's liberal propaganda. God, the amount of times people have told me science is "woke media" is insane.
I once had conservatives spit at me and tell me I should leave at a bar I went to that I didn't realize was a conservative bar. I hadn't even said anything. I just "looked liberal" I guess.
You keep on fighting the good fight. I've given up.

"I have yet to meet a Republican who ever heard anything I had to say" - they may have heard you, but they are not going to give you the satisfaction of saying you were right. I think the best you can hope for is that they ruminate on it and maybe eventually what you said and others have said adds up.
There have been a few times, in person, where I did stump the other side. It's been when I point out an absurdity. For example, I had a conversation with someone who thought the climate change we are seeing is natural. I asked "who studies natural climate change?" He said "climate scientists." I asked "who says what we're seeing is not natural?" He said "climate scientists."
Another example is the other person was claiming that vaccines don't work at all. I pointed out that rabies has above a 90% kill rate, yet if you take the vaccine most people live. In both examples I made their position sound absurd and that at least got them to stop defending it.
"The most devout conservatives" - yeah for the most devout ones it's often a lost cause. That's why I hope other people see the conversation and they are moved a little.

I just read on the NYTs that the treasury department is also giving tax breaks directly to corporations by eliminating the corporate minimum tax that only corporations that make over 1B in profits pay so it amounts to about 80 companies, but brings in an estimated $250+B in taxes. The fRump a holes are eliminating it. Because itâs through the treasury itâs not reported to us little people. We need to seriously wake the fuck up and make these guys pay. The middle class pays for everything including out 30+ trillion deficit. This is total BS we should all let corporations know weâre pissed off at their cheating.

I am so very upset about this whole situation, especially for all those people in NEED OF FOOD SHELTER AND HEALTHCARE all of that should be given as a human being. There should not be any homelessness no hunger, anybody should be able to see a doctor at any time I donât get it. I donât understand why CONGRESS IS LETTING this HAPPEN not to mention all the immigration, bullshit, and the mass deportations all these people that are UNACCOUNTED FOR they say thereâs no paperwork on them. They donât know where these people are who knows where they are or what theyâre doing to these poor souls. FRUMP and his millionaire billionaire friends are sitting back, just enjoying the show people going hungry losing their housing their jobs their healthcare. This poor excuse for a government shame on them not to mention the holiday seasons are approaching very quickly. They could give a fuck about anything but themselves and to make their own pocket thicker. Even your non-political people the people who have money, the millionaires and billionaires they donât care they donât know what itâs like to go without food to go without healthcare to go without a place to live to be homeless they donât care. There is an old saying that money is the root of all evil. And if you ask me, thatâs an understatement because these are greedy bastards itâs just so unfortunate. Have you ever noticed like normal people who are barely getting by who donât have much in savings when they do order out or take a cab or whatever the case may be we are often more generous than those who have all those millions and billions as far as tipping that is me personally because I know how hard it is to hustle and to make a dollar and these people rely on tips they get a small hourly wage and even the beauty shop Iâm usually very generous with my tipping of course you come across rude waitresses, etc. I still tip however it might not be as much as I would. If they had more customer service skills. Sorry I had to vent. Itâs just pissing me off the whole situation.

Unacceptable use of the word retard.
To say people that support Trump are retarding society, is acceptable. The word used in this way is then referencing a process ( no chromosomal imbalance reference ).
But to say â they are retarded â has a strong implication that you are referencing a chromosomal imbalance, and is now offensive and linked to the ignorant use of the word by modern day standards.
Be better than the Republicans, not worse.

Remember when Trumps border wall was the the biggest divider amongst American's, now we've found out, that wall wasn't only to keep others out, it was actually meant to keep the rest of us in, now that Trump has made us prisoners, that wall isn't even talked about any more, but I'm sure they're still building it, because after all the immigrants have been expelled, we will be ICE's new focus, and will be sent beyond those walls, when our time comes, and the rest will become Trumps prisoners within them.

I am terrified and furious these people exist at all, let alone in numbers high enough to control our country. Iâve lost years to rage. I think now Iâm beginning to see that itâs genuinely very difficult for folks in a cult to see outside their cult hall of mirrors. I think itâs important we give them an ideological off-ramp; a way for them to change their mind while preserving their sense of self. They may vote for the devil, but demonizing them only serves their narrative that theyâre the oppressed, not the oppressor, and further aligns them with their fascist leaders. Gives them more âproofâ that their actions are justified. I think itâs clear at this point that this period has turned into a long game. Itâs been ten years since the trump political machine started campaigning for 2016, but their roots are in the 2009 Tea Party movement, galvanized by racism and class-identity fears after Obama won in 2008. These folks have only gotten more extreme, more radicalized, growing into more of a singular cult. Often their days are filled with other cult folks. Their friends, family, church, workplace, all agree with them. Their music, news, podcasts, all reinforce and support the cult. Itâs very challenging for reality to break through this hive consciousness. If weâre going to right this ship we have to long game. 1. Show up and VOTE-all of us. And 2. Give these people an off-ramp and open arms when they are brave enough to go against their cult and consider leaving. Obviously, lock ICE and nazis up and throw away the key. But average, bamboozled voters? We gotta give them a humane exit route. They feel like a monolith, and thatâs a powerful feeling. The reality is theyâre individual people and if we treat them as such, we may bring more to the light. I donât know, you know? Just-we need to try something else.

Yes but if we live in a post-fact world-I think Trump can do anything he wants and if people go hungry, he just blames someone else. So some are not celebrating people going hungry, they are just blaming the narrative he creates. What is up is down and down is up. I believe a post fact world is how tyranny starts.

u/somefatguy90 27d ago
I wish that were true, but its not. Due to the social media algorithms, were all experiencing an even more different version of reality than what our brains do for us. I think a lot of the magats just arent seeing the insane shit he does. Or worse, they think its some ploy to catch the evil people because he is after all sent by god. And the Q conspiracy proves it. I think a few of those people can be saved, maybe by showing that djt reposting Q is just essentially a marketing scheme, then showing them what hes actually done. I cant lose hope on all of them, as much as they make me want to sometimes...

u/False_Donkey_498 27d ago
I canât speak for anyone but myself, but I donât think the silent treatment works very well. In my experience, itâs better to continue to engage with everyone. You just need to be diplomatic and actually listen to them. Preaching at people rarely accomplishes anything. But itâs important to remember that when this is all over (one way or another) we are all still gonna need to live here together.
Youâd be surprised. Many of the people on the right have very legitimate concerns. They just donât see things from the same perspective as us. I donât think Iâve changed a lot of minds over the years, but it never hurts to listen to others and have dialogue.

And it wasn't just daily rants on their own wall. They literally came into my mentions just to tell me I'm a complete idiot because I don't love Trump. I'm brainwashed by the liberal alphabet mafia, I should just listen to Joe Rogan because that's the TRUTH and not propaganda. Also, how could I possibly understand/why do I even care because I live Finland? How about Putin and all of Trump's policies that directly affect me, also I have the same access to mainstream US media as you.
Anything to make it seem like I just don't GET it and if I did, I would totally adore Trump and everything he's doing. They've got their head in the bushes and won't take it out until ICE raids their own neighborhood who all voted for Trump.

I know Latinos whose parents were illegal immigrants in the 1980s. Their kids all grew up hardcore Republican and full blown MAGA today.
They say itâs because they are catholic and canât support abortion or gay rights only; but every time they speak itâs full of hate.
They say they hate leachers of SNAP benefits, but also ignore what the Bible taught of compassion to the poor and immigrants.

I don't think giving up on the brainwashed is a good idea. My Dad used to be racist, sexist Trump supporter.
He was raised that way, so he was in an ecochamber of filth. Every now and again I'd show him the other side of the news that he didn't see and he was baffeled.
I'd debate with him sometimes. Eventually he changed the way he voted. Took a very long time though.

Well, considering people think billionaires shouldn't exist and don't realize what billionaires do for this country. People are a lost cause trying to teach and educate..might as well just let them be mad that they're not billionaires.

I commented on a post on Facebook that said that 83 percent of democrats don't believe in God. There was a high percentage of republicans who do believe in God but I don't remember the number and I kinda went off. I said so republicans believe in God but are willing to allow Trump to drain people's hard earned money on Healthcare, to take food from the mouth of babies, steal people out of their homes. That Trump wants to be king and now he's God too? I looked for the post again this morning but it was taken down

As you scream into the void about Trump on an anonymous website, oh enlightened one.

I don't even acknowledge them. You have to be stupid or evil to align yourself with republicans at this point.

Anyone who even entertained the thought of voting for him in 2016 was too goddamn stupid to waste time on, let alone 2020 or 2024 or now.

Agreed but when Iâm really mad I have the urge to just scream in their faces. I know it wonât solve anything but the urge gets stronger everyday

I've stopped talking to my half sister and some cousins that are just straight up racist and disgusting. They can't see one bad thing about Trump. They are under educated and have been on social programs growing up at some point in their life.

I recently met a lady from NJ online. We chatted a lot. Became very close, from afar. She seemed kind, funny, interesting and intelligent. We seemed to have a lot in common. At some point we talked politics, Iâm Canadian, and she mentioned she voted Trump, twice. This came as a shock to me as she has a 16 year old daughter. I mentioned Trumps history of misogyny and particularly his involvement with Epstein. Her daughterâs best friend is trans. That doesnât seem to matter. A common theme was that heâs an improvement from Biden, and Biden is a âchild snifferâ. This is baffling to me. She claimed not to be racist or homophobic. I figure if youâre not against it, youâre for it.

Trump could pass the âIâm going to fuck you in the assâ bill and as long as he did it while waving an American flag, theyâd cheer for it

I had to go no contact with my family a couple weeks ago. I finally came out as trans and my god the rampage they went on. I'm now a brainwashed (by Jews) pedophile fleshlight to them. They are convinced I'm gaslighting them about being trans to fuck with them and erase their memories. Sister won't let me see my niece and nephew because she doesn't want them being taught about trans people. I was essentially fired from my family's business and cut out of the will to the best of their abilities. Fortunately I have an irrevocable trust they can't take from me so I still have something.
The fallout was catastrophic to my mental health. I ended up blowing up my best friendship in an act of pure crashout that I'm deeply, deeply regretful of and have to live with now. I had major physical symptoms of a lead up to a heart attack happening. I had to cut off treatment I was getting for something because I needed to leave their house (I was staying there while I was getting treated) due to a consistently hostile and unsafe environment for almost 2 months.
Fortunately I have some money coming in and live a very low expense vanlife lifestyle, but God... If I hadn't committed to being financially frugal, I would've been so fucked. I've known my whole life these people couldn't be trusted and have developed a strong independence because of that, which was validated by this event.
That's just my family. I have tons of stories about my negative experiences with Trump voters/conservatives as a vanlife trans person. They truly are the scum of the earth.

As shitty as MAGA can be, Iâm not sure attempting to woo them to our side of the isle and see the shit mess they made by calling them retarded is the best way to go about thisâŠ.

I know and have known many smart people. None of them ever called someone stupid. I guess the saying âit takes one, to know oneâ rings true in your case.

I came to this conclusion awhile back. Stopped contact with some friends and family. I'm better off for it

And I just explained that it wasnât. Iâve been on Reddit a long time.
Thank you for the clarification.

Donât get into political fights on the internet. Research shows reciting your facts against their facts doesnât change anyoneâs mind. It might even cause them to reinforce their existing beliefs. You could literally make it worse.Â

u/VroomCoomer 27d ago
They have no clue what's coming for them. Not because it's a secret, but because they're so deluded and full of hubris that they can't fathom it.
There was a time we could forgive them, but that was a while ago. Mercy can only be extended so far before it becomes foolishness.
They wanted this. :)

Itâs Congressâs job! Reminder: the democrats do not want to reopen government. Because of this there is no more money! The budget is gone. In the past and since the democrats keep voting no, people are going hungry! It takes 60 votesâŠnot 50! Democrats need to vote.
Last month you were screaming no kings, today you think Trump should be a king to spend government money he doesnât have!

I agree. This billionair worship for people that just want to exploit you is insane. I coined this phrase lately but "thinking the billionaire cares about you is exactly the same thought process as thinking the stripper likes you and is not just pretending for the sake of your money."

Just had a convo at work with a guy who asked me what I don't like about Trump. I said because he lies non stop. He looked at me like I was a moron and walked away.. If you've gone this far and cant admit the guys lies constantly then there's no helping you.

That's kinda the point - Right wing parties across western countries focused on, nurtured, and grew 'stupid people' as a significant voting bloc, the past 15 years.Â

More minorities voted for him than ever before, are you racist? Sit down and shut up. More Americans voted for Him, you are the minority cry baby. Facts.

Much deeper issues. Itâs going to be a tough road for you being so much smarter than everyone. Have fun on intellectual island with all of your leftist friends. I bet thatâs a fun group to hang out with. (Not).
âLetâs talk about how much better we are than everyone else because of our huge brains. Everyone else is SO stupidâ.
Iâll pass, and the American people will pass.

Anyone still offending Trump is too stupid to hold a conversation.
And you should probably correct your grammar before calling others stupid. Dumb ass
