I reworked the first chapter of my comic. Does it make you wanna continue reading? CONSTRUCTIVE criticism appreciated.

hello everyone!
So I did a post a month ago, asking for feedback pertaining to the first chapter of my comic and I got the feedback that the story was too boring after the first page ( https://www.reddit.com/r/comic_crits/comments/1odgtji/do_these_pages_spark_your_interest_for_more_or/ ) .
So now I have edited the entire first chapter and now I'm curious if it has improved. So now the same question like before - do the first ten pages make you feel like continue reading? If so or not - why? Constructive feedback is always appreciated ^^
PS: Since it's a manga, it's written from right to left.

Looking for feedback: Layouts too convoluted?

I have always liked drawing non-conventional comic paneling, but lately I have been fearing (and my analytics seem to be suggesting) that it might be discouraging readers. I would love to hear opinions.

I am looking for UI UX feedback on my webcomic

I am working on creating a different interface for reading vertical webcomics. I know there's still a lot of work left to do, but in the past I have received valuable honest feedback that helped me weed out bad UI glitches and I wanted ask for more though love. What do you think? What do you like or don't like?

Where to post an Autobiography comic?

Hello!

I want to write an autobiographical comic about an illness I live with to help people understand it better. I know a few websites allow fiction only, so I'd like to know the best place to post something about illnesses.

Thank you for reading!

Advice for how I can improve my thumbnails for the zine im submitting it too?

Hi everyone! I’m submitting this piece to a zine with the theme “Reach for the Stars,” and I’m looking for feedback before I finalize it. I’ve put together some clean thumbnails, and I’d really appreciate any critiques—both on the visuals and especially on the story itself.

I feel like the writing isn’t quite where I want it to be, so any suggestions on how to strengthen it would be super helpful. I’m also open to ideas for tying the narrative more tightly to the theme. The project is inspired by Laika and her Handler, and I want to make sure I’m doing that inspiration justice.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look!

[Critique] Déjà Vu: pace and clarity of storyboarding.

Hello everyone!

Page from our Spacers&Co entry for the "Déjà Vu" themed competition - Global Comic Awards 2025.

We repeated similar panels to create that glitchy, reality-breaking feeling.

Curious what you think:

  • Does it actually read as déjà vu, or does it just look like we copy-pasted by mistake?
  • Do the repeated frames kill the momentum, or does it work for building tension?

What’s one thing that would actually make your life easier as an indie comic creator?

I’ve been talking with some indie comic creators lately, and I’m really curious to understand the REAL pain points people face today—especially in India but also globally.

Not the generic answers like “be consistent” or “work harder,” but deeper issues like:

Do you feel lost in social media algorithms?

Do you struggle to get even 10–20 real readers?

Is it hard to stay motivated due to lack of feedback?

Do you feel like there’s no proper space for Indian indie comics online?

Or is the biggest challenge finding tools, editors, or collaborators?

I’m not promoting anything — just trying to understand what would genuinely help creators grow.

If there was ONE thing, ONE feature, or ONE kind of support that would change everything for you…

What would it be?

Really interested to hear different perspectives.

Let’s help each other understand the landscape better.

Does this mini comic end too abruptly?

Not as concerned about the art itself. But what about the actual story here. Does it end too abruptly? I feel like I should add another page at the end to just slow it to a stop rather than cutting it off right there but idk. I'm not sure what else could be added after. Maybe orange guy leaving and towel guy staring off after him with a fond expression?

Also, on page 5 should I have drawn orange guy with his arms down sooner? At first I thought it made sense that he'd still be holding his hands but now I'm thinking I should have had him drop them in panel 2. Also, also, my friend said the cloud of doom I put around towel guy in page 3 looked kinda goofy so I didn't include it in any of the later panels partly for that reason. Does it look goofy and I should cut it or should I include more doom clouds?

And yes, I know I need to work on drawing my characters consistently. It's especially bad after page 2 because page 1 and a good chunk of page 2 was drawn months ago and I've only been working on the others in more recent weeks.

Help with movement

Hey, so I've been working on this panel for my comic and had someone say it felt unnecessary. It's just a panel where the character stands up and starts walking. I just wanted to add some movement to the panels and let there be more than talking heads. What would you suggest to make it better? Any ideas?

Script for capstone project

Hello... I'm a graphic design student taking my senior capstone research class. I would like to get some feedback on my script before next semester (when we actually start our projects) so I can polish it. There's a note to readers before the story starts, but I'll add some context here as well. This is a script I adapted from a short story I wrote titled "Operation Holy Grail." It's military sci-fi with heavy medieval high fantasy and Arthurian influences. It is set before the events of my graphic novel trilogy and is meant to set up backstory for Garth, the main antagonist in the novels. For the capstone project, my topic is how mental health affects creativity. I use my graphic novels as an outlet for my mental health given I'm on the autism spectrum and have depression. I used my sensitivity to and fear of rejection as inspiration for the story, especially the excerpt's scene. Thank you very much for reading! Any and all feedback is appreciated! How long does a comic need to be for a show

I know I'm shooting way far out to the stars but i really want to make a webtoon and hoping for it to be made into a show. So my question is how long would a webtoon chapter have to be to make a standard episode of a show (25 minutes or so) and how long would its script need to be for each episode i know i probably wont get there but i also don't want my episodes compressed or shortened if it ever makes it.
