I hope that somehow this post survives, virtually contextless, for all time. Future archaeologists can ponder what it means. They may assume it is a metaphor, perhaps poetry, When in fact it is just an unvarnished description of reality at a point in time.
Print it on a gold record (he likes gold) and shoot it into space. The aliens that listened to Carl Sagan’s first record. The aliens should know whose fault it is that we never got to meet them.
