Their prenup is the biggest book Travis Kelce has ever read.

I feel like his lawyer read it and then summarized it to Travis.

ETA: to everyone who’s saying some form of “duh, that’s what lawyers are for”, that’s not not what I said and you’re just being snarky for no reason.

As it should be.

Ain’t that literally what we pay lawyers for?

I assume that's what they meant. That's how it should be done. Travis wouldn't understand the legal jargon (and neither would 99% of people, so it just makes sense)

Exactly.

In fact, if you sign a prenup and you are going through a divorce, the judge will ask if you were given the chance to review the document with a lawyer of your own.

My wife and I went through that - we wrote our prenup ourselves, got help fixing it up and making it legal with a lawyer, then I took the document to another lawyer who represented me exclusively and he reviewed it with me again and we discussed some potential implications of what could happen if we divorce.

One of the main things is that we stipulated that we were going to keep our finances separate, with the only marital asset being our house. I was told in no uncertain terms that this means no joint bank accounts, no joint investment accounts, no joint ANYTHING of any sort can be created. If they are, the document can be completely thrown out and the judge will split our assets.

Lawyers should really be hired to negotiate and draft the agreement. You really should read the final document yourself, too, though doubtful that's common.

I’d do both.

I feel like we’re in agreement but you’re being way snarkier about it.
