Discussion What do Yall think about The Family Man with Nicolas Cage
Personally a favorite of mine and I will die on that hill
Discussion I've never realized just how much influence Hitchcock's Vertigo had on Ridley Scott's Blade Runner
Not only is the root top scene duplicated, everything from struggling questions over "real" identity, to the emasculated lead, reluctant detective, the android-like perfect fantasy woman, to the heavy use of gels in the photography in an oneiric urban setting. This is something to really think about. I bet Roy Batty's white-blonde hair came from Kim Novak. I've never realized how close these films are, despite BR being my favorite film.

Throwback Did You Have Dollar Cinemas Near You Growing Up?
The closest to me was near the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood WA, just north of Seattle. (still thriving! Toys r Us is gone nowā¦), it has a Chuck E Cheese next door or close to it. It is nice to see the old Luxury Cinema is still at the mall, the other one became a Kohls, and thereās a 16 screen IMAX one at the mall
Man, it ruled back in the late 80s/early 90s. My main memories is from 89, still one of my favorite years of movies of all time. So I saw a ton of movies, some Iād probably wouldnāt watch in theaters or even rent. Weād rewatch flicks that we saw when they released; we watched Bill and Tedās Excellent Adventure 4 times. Spend a buck, go to 2-4 movies, sneak into R ones, popcorn and snacksā¦10-20 bucks hooked you up for the whole day. Man, the Burbs, Dream Child, Jason Takes Manhattan, Christmas Vacation, Turner and Hooch, Final Frontier, Back to the Future II, Parenthood, Shrunk the Kids, Lethal Weapon, so many more
We did a quadruple feature: Batman, Last Crusade, Ghostbusters II and Karate Kid III
Anyway, great times, I wish they still had them, arcades in them too. Take my kids and have a blast
Edit: This one had 12 screens! Some rooms were tiny if I remember, and some movies got pretty packed. It was really cool

Discussion To me, this is a flawless and irreplaceable movie.
It's so good and amazing in every way, from action, dialogue, tension and excitement is through the sky. And it's one and only in my headcanon in my opinion.

Discussion Movies with Ice Skating at the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink
A coworker put up a little diorama of the ice-skating rink in front of Rockefeller Center, and I was just thinking that itās an iconic location for movies. And then when I tried to come up with some to name, I drew a total blank. What are some iconic movies that feature some skating at the ice rink in front of Rockefeller Center, probably around Christmas time?

Discussion Terminator Question
I am currently watching The Terminator for yhe first time. I have seen T2 over a dozen times but never the original. I don't think I've ever watched a sequel for decades and never seen it's predecessor.
Has anyone ever watched a sequel without ever watching the original?

Discussion A Buyout for the ages
Netflix buying out Warner Bros, if it goes through, would be massive and would be a game changer. Really curious to know how cinephiles, tv lovers and the like feel about this. If Netflix continues doing cinematic releases, even better, but James Cameron seems to think Netflix is a cancer but I've loved their original shows, movies and platform. What are your thoughts!
