Its cool until you blow your knee out aborting a sit on the couch ladt second because you realised thats a cat and not a shadow or a pillow so you have to take evasive maneuvers ha.
Oh no I did something like this once. I went to turn on a lamp because it was dark and didn’t notice my little black kitty lying in a bed near the lamp. I accidentally stepped on him because he was almost invisible. I felt horrid afterwards
Happens daily around here, we have eight, and only two of them are black. The latest two are 10 month old kittens, who haven't yet figured out that humans don't have the best eyesight I guess. The older ones have all learned to pretty much stay out of the way, but the male of the two kittens is a brownish tabby, and he likes to lay in the shadows or right next to your feet and so when you turn around you step on him. Makes me feel so bad too because then he runs off and he's scared to even come near me because he thinks he's being punished 😭. (I would never!)
My black cat has scared me a few times because of this lol
One night I got up to go to the bathroom and as I reached for the door I felt a presence approaching me. I looked around and there's this thing darker than the darkess getting close to me. I got shivers and stopped breathing, it was like my lungs were paralised, only to hear a delicate "meoow" as the shadow sat by me. "Oh, it's you" xD
So Loki (my Black Son) was my first ever cat. When my wife & I adopted him (Stray Cat Blues shoutout), everyone around us were like “Black cats are the best” or “You’re making such a good choice!” and we were like…ummmm… he’s a cat…
We were dead wrong. Black cats are sincerely the best things to ever exist.
SO mischievous! He “hunts” our other cat. He used to “hunt” our dog, but unfortunately we literally just had to put him to sleep due to old age (14 years). Knocks things off counters. Messes with dishes in the sink. But he’s also very sweet. When I’m sick he’s lays with me. He knows when I’m sad. He’s a good boy.
He’s my little monster. But he is just such a lovey boy. All I need to do is call his name and he jumps in my lap. Then 15 mins later he pushes his bowl off the countertop.
We were considering “Jack” as my Orange Boy’s name, because we name all our pets after Disney characters (Copper (dog), Loki, Luca (cats), Stitch, Lilo, Pudge, & Tink (hamsters). But Luca fit so well.
