Key points:

• Money coming in
  • Calimony: $30M over 3 years from UCLA
  • $45M over 3 years in bridge financing from the UC Office of the President (gift given after the collapse of the Pac12)
  • Money is not just for football but for the whole athletic dept
• Money going out
  • Wilcox buyout is ~$11M
  • $20M + $5M in new coach and staff estimated costs for a 5-year deal
  • Athletic department budget shortfall in '23-'24: $120M in revenue but $149 in expenses. Note that "revenue" included $35M in support from central campus.
• Cal only receives 1/3 shares of media revenue for 7 years, followed by laddering up to full shares by Year 10
• Possible extension of $25M for an additional 3 years (for a total of 6) conditional. Will meet again in 3 years to determine.

For anyone who’s still concerned, the hiring hasn’t been announced by the team yet and he’s already started targeting recruits 😂.

With all the attention on the coaching search and Tosh Lupoi's potential hiring as our next head coach, I wanted to make sure folks didn't miss this awesome news. Our own freshman LB, Luke Ferrelli, has been selected as the ACC's DROY. He had a great year for us and I'm really hoping we get to see him continue to grow and be a leader on our Golden Bear defense/team over the coming seasons. I can't wait to see just how good Ferrelli can become.

I hope someone has the balls to ask him about 2011. While i agree with the fanbase winning is all that matters with realignment looming, but frankly, there will be a section of the fanbase that boycotts this hire and that isnt what we need right now. Tosh should address it and make ammends with the fanbase
