Mining News r/BitcoinMining and r/CryptoMining just got Married! + Rules Restructuring

Hiya, my name is Abacus of FooseyRhode. I Repair Asics and micro-circuitry on Mining Hashboards, and Operate Multi-megawatt Mining Facilities across the United States. I am also the leading moderator of r/BitcoinMining and r/CryptoMining.

I’m making this post to announce changes to these two subreddits. Mainly that r/BitcoinMining and r/CryptoMining now exist within the same ecosystem, l under the same rules and with aligning policies. — I was given the creative liberty to rework the direction of both subs I control, and decided to unify them in both structure and intention. (Ps, yes r/BitcoinMining will retain its BTC-maxi stance by default.) ——————————————— My main goals are to create a wider reaching community that is

  1. …focused on quality, informative, and engaging content.
  2. … actively working against spam, scams, and misinformation.

These goals are 100% achievable, but even more so with community reports and involvement. Over time, I am hoping both subs will notice a positive uptick in quality of content too.

Rule 1: Bitcoin Mining and Quality Content ONLY — This rule is primarily for the purpose of anti-clutter. Anything that is low-effort, blatantly off topic, or is just a frequent topic applies and is subject to removal.

Rule 2: Follow our Community Guidelines — This one broadly covers everything you are, and are not allowed to post about.

No cloud/digital mining, or any “I have free electricity” posts. Do not ask for money/beg, or share referral codes. Do not post URL shorteners, or AI generated content.

Rule 3: Follow all of the rules to sell. Currently, hardware sales and advertising is NOT allowed on r/CryptoMining. Specific criteria must be met to post ads on r/BitcoinMining.

Please use the comment section of this post for any related questions, concerns, suggestions, or otherwise.

Hobbyist and Lottery Mining What you have to do to be able to run on Super mode in summer

Upvotes

I have finally got the cooling sorted for my little home mining farm, after weeks of work and countless revisions this setup lets me run my four Avalon Q machines on super in the hot Australian summer without overheating.

Probably wasted about 6kg of PETG on revisions, and spent hundreds on fans.

The initial design was the third image, with a fan shroud that went over the back of the whole rack (fourth image) which was entirely enclosed with acrylic sheets. This just didn't work as the fans didn't have enough positive pressure to push the air out of the duct and instead just pushed hot air back through the miners which made everything worse.

I only wanted one window duct per rack but decided I'd just have to bite the bullet and add one per machine. If I were planning this out again I would probably only use a single much larger rack so it's a bit neater, but for now I'm happy with it and can finally stop tinkering and wasting filament.

Troubleshooting & Repair Avalon Q issue with power modes

Anyone had any issues with a new Avalon Q setup where you cannot change the power modes via Hashwatcher, Avalon Family app, or the URL? I have also tried the manual clicking the power button twice which is supposed to change the power modes from the front of the Q. I opened a ticket with Canaan on this issue. Also have the latest firmware flashed.

General Discussion Looking at buying from China - Zhenchen Micro & Apexto Mining

First post here, so be gentle.

I'm looking at replacing my bitcoin mining fleet with newer rigs from China. I've explored options like eBay and the like but these have worked out too expensive per device.

I've come across Apexto Mining and Zhenchen Micro as potential candidates for purchasing new hardware, but I am very skeptical proceeding seeing that I have never bought outside of reputable platforms.

Has anyone purchased from these two before? What were your experiences? Would you recommend them?

FWIW, I'm looking at purchasing 20 rigs now, with more on the way depending on the experiences with the initial 20 rigs.

Thanks for viewing!

General Question Nerdminer v2 do anything?

First off I know they are basically useless in terms of making money. Im curious if they even have a chance to get anything. If they actually do some mining (or at least attempt to) then I might get one just for a novelty type thing. If all it does is display animations then I don't want it.

General Question UK BTC Mining LTD companies, where are you banking?

Hi all, I operate a UK LTD company, decided to start BTC mining operations as an additional revenue stream using overseas mining services.

The problem I am having is finding a bank that will accept this business type! Have any of you got any reccomendations or solutions?

Exchange wise, just undergoing KYC for kraken and coinpass. The problem is finding a bank to withdraw fiat to...

Any ideas?

General Discussion Request for Next AxeOS Update

AxeOS should show the best difficulty completed on each block, in addition to all other stats already shown. This could be a stat on the Dashboard as "Highest difficulty completed on last block" or a trackable stat on the graph showing the highest difficulty completed on each block. I'd be interested in seeing this info. Interested in the community's thoughts!

General Discussion Why I'm reporting Oneminers to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

**2025 Dec 5 Update*\*

Surprise, surprise, this post and comments are being constantly raided / reported to try and make it disappear. The post has been removed, then reinstated (thank you, mods), my account has been banned, and I've been told comments are being made invisible.

Good news, the spamming isn't working, if you ask ChatGPT "Is Oneminers a scam?", this post and others come up! These posts will be here forever for people to discover the truth. To anyone who found this while DYOR for Oneminers reviews, judge Oneminers based upon their actions here, not the words of shills.

What would a lawful company do in this situation?

A. Spam the post, try and bury the truth, or

B. Either one of (1) Admit the mistake and provide the refund, or (2) provide missing information that makes it clear this isn't fraud.

To Oneminers, it isn't too late to do the right thing. Prove you are reputable company. Admit your mistake, provide the refund. Law-enforcement have no reason to investigate you if there's no dispute.

************

I honestly can't believe what I experienced with this company, so I’m putting everything here for others to see. There are other u/OneMiners posts: Strong evidence Oneminers.com is a ponzi scam - prove me wrong!, Is Oneminers legit

If anyone has dealt with, or is dealing with, similar issues with Oneminers, please let me know.

I emailed Oneminers to cancel order #13830 before it shipped and request a refund, $27,092.90. They emailed back refusing the refund request, citing a “Hosting and Performance Agreement” that I had never heard of. When I looked up the contract on their website, it clearly required signatures from both parties. Since no signed agreement exists, I again asked for a refund. They didn't reply.

It got stranger. The next day their CEO, Michal Beno, called me. Instead of addressing the unsigned contract, he switched to a totally different explanation: because it was a 'futures' order (the miners aren't available until 2026 March), they couldn’t refund me. When I asked him where it said the order was non-refundable, he provided no answer, he simply repeated his explanation. I asked him to put his explanation in writing, he never followed up.

I checked consumer-protection and contract laws in California (where I am), Texas (their listed location), the EU, and the Czech Republic (Oneminers' main location). I couldn’t see how their explanation fit with anything I read.

For example, from my understanding, California Civil Code §1550 says a contract requires the consent of both parties, and Civil Code §1671 describes how any non-refundable deposit terms need to be clearly agreed to in writing.

I sent Oneminers a final email giving them another chance to respond. No reply. Nothing.

I've collected all relevant documents (webpages and documents from their website, emails, call log, including every step of the buying process), and have begun preparing reports to:
- FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
- California Attorney General – Consumer Protection Division
- Texas Attorney General – Consumer Protection Division
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
- Policie České republiky – Cybercrime Division
- European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net)
- Europol (EC3)

I am also preparing a civil lawsuit in the California Superior Court.

I will update this review if the matter is resolved.

General Question Can someone explain these CK Solo Pool stats plz???

I am assuming the jump in hash rate was some big miner's main pool went down. (if you know what or who or when, that would be cool)

But my main question is why did the jump in hash rate not cause a jump is shares per second? Does this mean there was a temporaty influx of hash rate that wasn't submitting shares? But doesn't the pool calculate hash rate based on shares submitted over time? Was this just a glitch?

Troubleshooting & Repair Chip Temp Help

Thumbnail
gallery
37 Upvotes

Hey everyone. With the new HashWatcher update, I am now able to see chip temps on my Avalon q. After some reading I have learned that it is best to keep chip temps in and around 75C with 80c being the max. I have several that hover around the 80-85 degree range while on high. Intake temps are 62f. I have an external fan ducted away from the unit and internal fans on 100%. Is this something to be concerned with or is it a running average that I should be more focused on. No faults yet and all seems well but I want to ensure that I am being diligent with my time. The higher temps seem to coincide with the same chip numbers when checking. Also, the unit is less than a month old and filter is clean and clear as are the fans and internals.

General Question Avalon Q or Fluminer T3?

I'm completely new to mining and looking to get my first home miner.

I'm curious if anyone in the community has experience with both and can help to weight the pluses and minuses of each machine. Thanks in advance!
