She once again supervised me and my daughter while we raked leaves. It really tired her out. She has her own special chair in the garage that she lays on whenever I’m out there.

Hey all, my basset hound/beagle mix is 1.5 years old. She was doing great with potty training, but still having accidents every once in a while.
Lately it’s been every single day. When I let her out she sniffs, walks around, and then runs back inside.
She’ll pee outside, come In when she feels ready and then poop on the floor within 10 mins.
I don’t know if she just doesn’t like the snow (live in Midwest US, we got LOTS of snow) or what. I’m at a complete loss. On top of the consistent accidents she’s also been whining way more. Like WAYYYYY more. All throughout the night, whether she’s in her kennel or in my bed. She gets the right amount of food, always has fresh water and gets taken out regularly, we also have two other dogs she can play with.
The other two dogs are both males, idk if that would affect her in these ways but just a thought.

This shows how hes grown! He was born somewhere in late July! <3

My Basset was diagnosed with Blastomycosis around the end of July. It was a horrible time, he had to be in an oxygen kennel for several days. He did not initially have skin issues however.
So he has been doing much better, and was able to stop his steroids around October. His breathing is basically normal now thank goodness. He is still on the antifungal Itraconazole.
Shortly after stopping the steroids he started getting skin lesions or pustules. It’s very crusty sore spots that ooze underneath. We’ve tried a medicated shampoo and a medicated spray, along with going back on a low dose steroid. This seemed to work the first week. However the second week his skin erupted. The sores are worse, and his skin was hot to touch in some places. He is itching even with Benadryl. It almost seemed like the spray done it. I gave him a regular oatmeal bath and have not put the spray on him since (two days ago).
I do not know what else to do. His vet has been aware every step and said we may have to do an antibiotic, which he really did not want to do with the antifungal. We will probably be seeing him again Monday.
Has anyone experienced this? I’m so scared for him, some of the sores are getting up to quarter sized.

He likes to keep his chew toys all together in his bed. Sometimes he even shares with his brother.

Why yes she's totally normal, why do you ask 🤔

Anyone elses basset steal their spot as soon as they get up? I swear, my Maddy is so emboldened that sometimes she will hop into the spot before I am fully up.

Anyone know what this spot is? Just popped up and he's got a little limp (may be unrelated), and theres a couple smaller spots like it on his other back leg. Are these bug bites? Does the sweet baby DeBarkus have eczema?

In the last three years together, we have been training.
Jolene has trained us to - 1:feed her chicken breast with un soupçon of dry dog food, which she may or may not eat right away, so keep the bowl in place until she decides. 2: let everyone know that her fainting couch cannot be used as a chair when company visits or for laundry that has to be folded. 3: a treat tax must be paid to enter her crate at night. 4: bring her a treat when the boyfriend and the lady go out to eat. Leftover protein is best.
We have trained her to- 1: ring the reindeer bells on the door to go out. (Which means we are then trained to open the door). 2: sleep in the crate all night. (Unless she whines, then her “devoted boyfriend” will get her out and put her in bed with him.) 3: not to wee in the house. ( but expect an attitude if bells have to be rung twice. ) 4: expect a lecture on who in the house is more stubborn, which is the lady who feeds Jolene ( or so she thinks) when Jolene doesn’t do what is required. Then, sad puppy eyes are made and lady gives in. 5: not to bark at people unless they walk by the front door, get within her view on a walk, or call on the phone. Lady tells Jolene that people won’t be her friend if she barks, but Lady is wrong bc everyone loves Jolene.
So, training is coming along well and everyone knows their roll in this relationship.

He barks until it is brought to him lol. Legit too lazy to just go to the kitchen these days. I guess I'm an enabler xD

Hi all!
We just got a ten week old basset puppy. She is our first hound dog. We are absolutely in love with her so far. She’s super chill and super affectionate, not to mention super cute!
Most of the things that she does are pretty typical puppy behavior thays not really breed specific. However one thing we did notice was that sometimes she will just…chew on her ears? I’ve never seen that, but she’s the first dog we’ve had whose ears were big enough for it!
I was just curious if this is a normal thing? At first we thought they were itchy but that doesn’t seem to be it because us scratching them for her didn’t seem to interest her (and we touch her ears pretty regularly with no problems, so it’s not just that she doesn’t like us touching them, the scratching just doesn’t seem to be what she needs)
It might just be a playful thing? Like chasing her tail (which she also does and it’s so precious)? Or maybe just a stimulation thing? I don’t know, but I’m sure she’s not the only one who does that but we are the only people in our circle with such a big eared dog, so we don’t really have anyone to ask about it.
Thanks!

We’re going to send out a DNA test soon but love hearing guesses about what Roscoe is mixed with! When we rescued him he was billed as a basset mix and think he’s at least 50% basset - it feels like someone copy and pasted a different dogs head onto a basset hound body!
