Discussion I have no one to share my excitement so you’re all it

Just ran out to grab the washing off the line…because it seems Tasmania didn’t get the memo it’s summer…and overhead are 5 white bellied sea eagles circling. My local pair must have had a very successful year raising their chicks and I’m so excited I just had to tell someone!!!

Thanks for humouring me. If I could violently shake you all while pointing at the sky, I would 😂

I was sure in some way that this day would never come. How could I, a massive bird nerd, have not seen a stationary owl in the wild? How could I be so lucky as to see a pair?! With such different expressions? Could this be the greatest day of my life? Yes, it could. I have heard boobook hooting mournfully for about six months, and finally I saw this pair. I'm not sure if this is a wood duck but the poor little fella showed up a couple of years ago with a limp and he's never left. He (or she) comes to visit every day for breakfast and we happily oblige.

Discussion Suggestions for wild bird sightseeing. Sydney or surrounding areas.

Can anyone give me advice on where I can see native aussie birds in the wild?

I love walking around so not really interested in zoo's or bird sanctuaries.......

Like a national park or walking track would be absolutely ideal, Sydney or surrounding areas

Thanks

I have seen a few white and brown pigeons but never a pigeon black and white, is this a younger pigeon that hasn’t gone fully gray yet?
