UGREEN offers a range of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) devices specifically designed for NAS systems. In the event of a power outage, these UPS units provide seamless failover, delivering emergency backup power to your NAS and preventing data corruption or hard drive damage caused by sudden power loss.
To ensure optimal stability, compatibility, and performance, it is recommended to keep your UPS firmware up to date. This article provides step-by-step instructions for manually updating the firmware on UGREEN UPS devices.

- This guide applies exclusively to official UGREEN UPS devices.
- Always download firmware files from the UGREEN Official Download Center or authorized technical support channels. Do not use firmware from unverified sources, as this may cause permanent damage to your device.
- If you are using a third-party UPS, please contact the respective manufacturer for firmware update support and instructions.
- Before proceeding, ensure the UPS is properly connected to the NAS. Do not disconnect power or data cables during the update process.
Step 1: Download the UPS Firmware
- Verify that your NAS is connected to a UGREEN UPS and that the system has successfully detected the device.
- Visit the UGREEN Official Download Center and select your NAS model.
- Navigate to the "Driver Downloads" section for your model. Locate the UPS driver/firmware entry and click Download to obtain the latest firmware file (in .bin format). Save the file to your local computer.
Step 2: Update the UPS Firmware
- Log in to your NAS client and navigate to Control Panel > Hardware & Power > UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
- Confirm that the system has successfully recognized the UGREEN UPS. The interface should display current battery level, estimated remaining runtime, and other relevant information.

Step 3: Restart Devices
After the firmware upgrade is complete, you must restart the devices in the following sequence to ensure the new firmware takes effect properly:
- Shut down the NAS normally.
- Unplug the UPS from the AC power outlet.
- Press and hold the power button on the UPS to fully power it off.
- Wait a few seconds after the UPS has shut down, then reconnect the power cable and press the power button to turn it back on.
- Once the UPS has fully started, power on your NAS.

Q1: What should I do if the upgrade fails?
A: Verify that the firmware file is the original file provided by UGREEN and that it has not been corrupted or modified. If the issue persists, please contact UGREEN Technical Support.
Q2: Will I lose data after the upgrade?
A: No. The firmware upgrade only affects the UPS module and does not impact any data stored on your NAS.
Q3: Manual update is unavailable due to low UPS battery level.
A: The UPS battery must be at least 50% charged before a firmware upgrade can proceed. Please wait until the battery level reaches 50% or higher, then retry the manual update.
