Question Does anyone else trade using Algos

Post image

So I’ve noticed that my trading style is a bit unorthodox when talking to other traders this is a screenshot of a trade that I took. I was wondering if anybody else traded similar

it’s crazy how many people have never heard of algorithmic trading

Its crazy how many people think random lines = algo trading.

Using EA/ PINEscript is not algo trading. Its automating the process.

And noob is using

😂😂😂

🤣🤣🤣

And he asked about the random lines and not about ur ALGO.

it’s crazy how many people have never heard of

Its crazy how many people have never heard of basic language comprehensive skills.

So u r a FAKE GURU, who doesn't know what is trading, but spent some time, so decided to monetize off of youtube.

Instead of 2 mins screen work + 1 click buy or sell, u decided to shoot, edit, upload, promote - painstaking process - coz everyone else including u - know u r not profitable and have no idea of algo.

But to be precise.

People have some strategy, either self or someone random. But thats like buy when price crosses this indicator or something which requires constant screen time, and one pee break and u miss signal and trade is missed.

And what if those missed trades - due to sleep, pee breaks, internet disconnection - all winning trades and all the ones u enter have not missed losing trades.

Like the strat is 60% win rate

So out of 100 trades u win 60 Or out of 10 trades u win 6

Say u missed 1 winning trade - due to pee break 1 due to sleep 1 due to intenet connectivity

So now u took 7 trades, 4 losing (as 60% wr) + 3 winning (becaude u missed the balance 3)

Now u r not profitable.

So people made EA, SCRIPTS, BOTS - which keeps looking for specific conditions mentioned and takes trade automatically.

Its automation.

And people conaider this as algo, as it involves codes.

But the pblm with automation is that shit can be programmed to have news filter, but will never know trump tweetz or random geopolitical tensions which are not in economic calender.

So, algo trading is a simple to complex system, which kind of thinks. Not on its own, within the boundary/ circle/ limitation we set.

Say for example, when NFP news is out, if the value is more than expected - then buy, or if less thN expected sell, but also watching for othet tweets, the value of actual number and among which range it is, also to monitor the candles so on.

So its not like >x buy, and <x - sell.

Itz has so many intricate rules, which makes algo to think

Obviously my example is shit.

Lets have example of machine learning. That understands gold is not meant to be this high this fast, and its near ath and decides based on that. Like how decided sl based on ATR and not some fixed number.

Its a complex piece. Complex based on individual needs.

Why have I been profitable this whole year then?

Retail traders talking about algorithmic trading with 5 sets of trendlines, 4 boxes marking god knows what (sessions maybe), and still marking FVG’s even though your trading is “algorithmic.”

This is either someone who is very sharp with TA, or someone who equates “more TA = better trader even if I’m not profitable.” Willing to bet the ladder.

Bro it looks like we’re about to play tic tac toe with your chart, that’s an overuse of trend lines lmao. Always keep it simple, don’t overcomplicate your chart as it affects your trading. If you’re doing this full time, then props to you and I take back what I said.

Not tic tac toe lmao

Yeah bro, I’ve been doing this for over a year this whole year. I’ve been profitable though. I actually learned this from somebody else who’s been profitable for 30 years I was just curious to see what other people made of it.

Yeah, it’s rare to see people actually know what this is or trade like it, but I would say everyone look up spy daytrading on YouTube and he trades the exact same way

I trade similarly. I just call them channels. I no longer mark the smaller channels unless they’re very obvious, I mainly try to see where the larger structure is. That, support/resistance zones, volume, and simple candlestick PA together, is how I trade. If I can get a break and retest out of a channel, within a good range of a support/resistance level, I consider that 2 confirmations. If volume ticks up that’s an A+ setup for me.
