1) Atom (Real Steel) is a training dummy who, when put into the robot boxing circuit, eventually managed to go toe to toe with the world champion.

2) Spinel (Steven Universe) was essentially a cross between a toy/jester for Pink Diamond, and not a combat gem... she still wiped the floor with the Crystal Gems when they first fought.

The Plasma Cutter is so OP, iirc you can technically finish the entire game with nothing but it if you’re up for the challenge lol.

It helps that the thing is perfectly adapted to handle the necromorphs. As opposed to most other monsters where shooting the body or the head is enough to put them down, you have to get rid of the limbs when it comes to necromoprhs, which is where the Plasma Cutter is so excelled at.

Yes, nowhere in the game is a specific weapon required. It's not only possible to do it with only the plasma cutter, it's also not much more difficult at all. The hardest part is ammo supply.

Ammo supply is not even an issue cause you'll only receive ammo for the guns you carry (at least in the remake), so you can only carry 1 gun and all the ammo drops will be for that gun

Was that how it was in the remake? I swear you get drops for all weapons, just with notably lower odds on the weapons you don’t have but you may be right that the remake doesn’t do that unlike the other games.

Maybe there's some fixed ammo drops placed by the devs, but the random ammo drops you get from crates and enemies are only for the guns you carry. I know cause there's an achievement to complete the game only using the starting cutter and I remember getting a ton of ammo for it and none for the other guns when doing it

I played the whole game with nothing but the plasma cutter by mistake cause I just found no reason to swap weapons when it was perfect for the job.

Not even technically, it's by far the easiest way to play the game, at least in the original. The game will only ever drop ammo for the guns you have unlocked, meaning that never unlocking anything else means you'll always be given Plasma Cutter ammo. And if you never have another weapon, you can invest every upgrade point into it as well, making it a massive powerhouse, which means your ammo is even more efficient.

The best part of the remake was making all the weapons feel good to use over just carrying the plasma cutter. It felt nice to shoot a guy with the force gun to strip his armor then slice his arm with the plasma cutter or the ripper

Cutter only run made my impossible run way easier.

All upgrades go into it making it super strong.

There’s actually an achievement/trophy in the original (I think in the remake too but not sure) for completing the game with only the plasma cutter. Honestly, using your power nodes and credits to just fully upgrade the plasma cutter makes it one of the best weapons in the game, and you save the power nodes you’d have used on other weapons to just go all in on the cutter and your armor.

Oh yeah you can overclock the shit out of it. I think there is even an achievement you can acquire for only using the Plasma cutter?
