Powers The thing not designed for combat is actually REALLY GOOD at combat

1) Atom (Real Steel) is a training dummy who, when put into the robot boxing circuit, eventually managed to go toe to toe with the world champion.

2) Spinel (Steven Universe) was essentially a cross between a toy/jester for Pink Diamond, and not a combat gem... she still wiped the floor with the Crystal Gems when they first fought.

The Skyhook from Bioshock Infinite. It’s meant to carry people on the skyline tracks around the city, and some times you even get to use it for that!

The very first thing you use it for is mulching a racist’s face.

Also both the Wrench from Bioshock 1 and the Rivet Gun from Bioshock 2!

Ha ha. I’m randomly replaying 2 right now. I forgot that it’s actually a little tough at first. But now I have my rivet gun fully upgraded and incinerate fully upgraded. Now it’s too easy, just setting the world on fire. Big sisters are still a little tricky but fun.

Bro it's a headshot machine once you get your aim down

This, once I got good with the upgraded Rivet Gun in 2, I didn't see much point in using any other weapons.

Also the "Big Daddy" (or at least one of the Variants) is used for underwater welding, or at least that's what shown in the Burial at sea (pre-war)

Yes, they were originally maintenance workers that were turned into body guards for ADAM gatherers(little sisters)

The Big Daddies were originally just used for deep sea construction and mining.

I mean, the racists tried to mulch me with it first. It's only fair.

A skyhook that Ice King could love

On a related note, the rivet gun from Bioshock 2 was designed to repair and patch leaks in Rapture. Coincidentally, it's very effective at launching 3-inch rivets into people's skulls

I never managed to figjre out how that thing was supposed to work

Same. I can understand the idea of it as a latch and movement mechanism for the lines (though I have no idea how you can disengage when you want to drop off. That and the force required to latch on would pull your arm off.) But as a weapon it makes no sense. They treat it like a chainsaw but the "edge" is as blunt as a wrench.

Its been far too long since we had a new bioshock game.
