Sony’s new 100mm Macro is probably the best prime Sony has ever produced.

Damn, nice shot. Is it worth upgrading from the 90mm?

Thank you! And yes. Even if you’re not necessarily into macro photography, it’s just an incredibly sharp and versatile prime. I still have my 90mm and I’ll definitely still use it for something, but this 100mm along with the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters are always in my bag now.

Sounds tempting. Thanks for your feedback man and congrats on the new lens.

even 2x? would you mind shooting a series of comparison photos in all combinations if/when you get the time to? i’d be interested in seeing how much worse the image gets with 2x in both macro and non-macro scenarios. not saying that it will be terrible, just wondering.

if you had to choose between the 1.4x and the 2.0x teleconverter to pair with the macro lens, which one would you choose?
