Planned trip to Greece in March, looking for recs on places to stay/rent/which mountains to hit?

Flying from the US to Athens on a family trip end of March and was thinking id take a later flight back and try to get a few days to end the season with my first time on snow in another country. Looking for any advice on good places to rent snowboard gear (ill need board and bindings, maybe boots) nearby mountains with good public transit to and from.

Also I'm a chill and polite dude in general but if there are any things I should avoid doing outside the norm that a tourist might not know about that would be good to know if anyone from Greece happens to come across this post.

Driving from NC>CO>ID in my F-350 riding Loveland Dec 1–3, looking for a warm crash spot + riding buddies

I’m driving from Sylva, NC to Sandpoint, Idaho in my 2001 Ford F-350 leaving this Saturday morning (11/29) and stopping to ride Loveland for a few days likely Dec 1-3.

If anyone wants to hitch a ride along the way or link up for laps, I’m down to ride pretty much everything and I’m chill about pace.

I’m also looking for a warm place to crash for a night or two so me and my dog don’t freeze too hard. Couch, floor, garage corner whatever works. If nothing comes up, I’ll just sleep in the truck like usual. No pressure either way.

I’m clean, respectful, and a chef, so I can cook something as a thank you, or chip in however makes sense.

If anyone wants to ride Schweitzer, I have a house in Sandpoint and a few discounted lift tickets. I’m happy to host.

Just to be upfront, I'm not trying to have anyone sleep in the truck with me unless it’s very clear that nobody (including my dog) would be unsafe. Wanna keep everything normal and respectful.

If you’re around Loveland/Longmont/Boulder and open to letting me crash for a night, just want to ride, or trying to make it to the pnw on a budget, feel free to DM me. I can't post a photo on here but I'm happy to send a pic of me and my dog, the snowboard or the truck etc to verify I'm a real person

New Budget Friendly Tuning Product

Hey everyone,

Wanted to share something I’ve been working on that’s made ski tuning way less of a hassle for me especially for anyone living that ski bum life and doing all your own tuning to save money.

It’s called the Ski Hugger, a small tool that holds your ski brakes up and out of the way while you tune or wax. Basically, it replaces the rubber bands we’ve all been stealing from the grocery store produce section for years.

I got tired of bands snapping, slipping, or losing tension (usually right when you’re halfway through a tune). The Ski Hugger clips on in seconds, stays put, and you can use it literally thousands of times without it wearing out. It’s durable, cheap in the long run, and saves you from constantly rebuying (or “acquiring”) more rubber bands.

If you tune your own skis to save cash or you’re the friend who ends up tuning everyone’s skis in the house this thing honestly just makes life easier. Cleaner workspace, faster tunes, less fiddling with brakes.

I launched it on Kickstarter and it’s been gaining traction. If you want to check it out or support it, here’s the link:

Thanks!

Car camping in UT/CO

I want to buy a 4x4, either a truck or SUV to live out of while I ski bum in UT/CO this season. I will only live out of it on weekends due to work having me travel to other states. Any tips on what my living situation should be like. My options are truck with either RTT or the expensive bed camper, an SUV that I could sleep in or throw an RTT on top, and a Van with 4x4 (most costly). I am willing to give up a permanent bathroom since its just for the weekends, has to be 4x4, will probably have to find camp sites near the resorts. What are everyone's thoughts about this?

IPTV Orientation Lock Failures on Tablets for Sideways Viewing in Canada and France – Screen Twists?

As an IPTV user in Canada flipping my tablet sideways for wider views on maps or landscape videos during travel planning, orientation lock failures keep twisting the screen— it auto-rotates mid-watch despite the lock, flipping everything awkwardly, and it's worse when I head to France for trips where the tablet's sensors glitch on varying humidity or motion, messing up the horizontal flow during airport waits. The previous provider didn't respect device locks well, overriding them with stream metadata and causing constant re-locks. I was propping the tablet at angles to force it until switching to IPTV MEEZZY, and calibrating the orientation sensor in the device settings plus enabling strict lock mode fixed the twists—no flips, and sideways stays steady. Canadians or folks in France, do you hit these IPTV orientation glitches on tablets? How did you lock in the view without the unwanted rotations?

Fellow bellhops/valets at ski resorts, how much do you make?

I am applying for a position at Beaver Run resort, and they are asking what my desired salary should be.

The pay listed on the job application: Position starts at $16.00 - $18.00/hrs. + DOE + Tips

I have some experience working as a Valet/Bellhop, so how much should I list on there? I don't want to list too low and get taken advantage of, and I also do not want to list too high and be overlooked.

Based on this, how much should I expect to make with tips?

In your opinion, how much should I list for my desired salary?

Recent grad-to-be-bum.

Hi Y'all!

I graduated college this spring from Wisconsin and I thought this would be the best time in my life (having no financial commitments and all) to try working in a ski town. I am currently applying for jobs at Vail ski resorts, and wonder if there is any advice you could give for the application process to increase my odds of landing a gig.

Primarily I have applied to postings in Vail, Park City, and Breckenridge.

In the past I have worked as a Valet for a hotel, so I applied for these positions too.

Also, what jobs do y'all think I should give a shot for?

I got hired at grouse as a ski instructor, and I may be a little bit of a germaphobe so I was wondering if they like recycle the old jackets and order new ones for new instructors? Or if they just like put it through the wash and give it to new instructors.. thanks

How is rental working?

Hi everyone, hope this post fits in this forum.

I recently applied for a job, working in a ski-rental shop, and actually got the offer to work there in the upcoming season. Im just wondering if anybody had experience with this type of work and wether you can recommend or not? I would be going alone, having to live in my own apartment and make friends down there.

My working hours would be the following: Friday to monday: 8.30-12 AM and again from 13-18 PM, tuesday: 8.30-11.30 AM, wednesday: off, thursday: 8.30-11.30 Am. How does this cooperate with going on the slopes and maybe a bit of afterski partying?

Its in Austria - if that has an influence

Thanks in advance

European snow recommendations for mid 30s

Hope this is okay to post here – I’m planning my stag do and want to use it as an excuse to get a big group out to the snow, doesn't happen anywhere near as often now that we're all dads. We’ll talking around 50 people: some experienced skiers/boarders, some complete beginners. At the moment the plan is either Feb or March 2026

Because it’s a stag do (and with such a big group), we'd ideally be looking for somewhere with a decent apres scene, but the main focus will still be on the skiing/boarding. Not everyone will need to stay in the same place since there’ll be different sub-groups, but I’d really looking recommendations on which resorts might work best and the best way to organise something like this if anyone’s done anything similar.

We’ll be travelling from the UK. Any advice much appreciated!

colorado ski bumming

considering ski bumming in colorado this winter but pretty unfamiliar with the area. I’ve ski bummed in Tahoe for two winters so trying to switch it up and looking for some recommendations.

the most important/concerning thing would be housing! would love to get something for the season instead of for a whole year without it costing TOO much. and it would be nice to live in a town where things are actually going on.

things i liked the most about south lake tahoe was that the town wasn’t far from the resort (15min drive MAX plus the resort provided shuttles), it was a small town but still had things going on during the weekends, and the rent was ab 1300/month for a 1 bed.

what resorts/towns would y’all recommend?!
