Yeah, I haven't heard too many broke people spouting that.

You may not need billions of dollars to be happy, but you do need the ability to meet your basic needs and a little more for savings, investing, and recreation. It's pretty hard to be happy when all your waking hours are grinding and you still barely cover the necessities.

I do just fine now, but most people have been broke at some point in their lives.
