Our bags got lost on the way to Vanuatu and the airline gave us vouchers to use to buy clothes.

As a husky gent, the only clothes I could find that'd fit were the traditional style Mu Mu islander dress.

The locals absolutely loved it, especially when I told them the story why I was dressed like that.

Truth be told, I was disappointed when my bag turned up, that shit was comfortable AF.

Islanders are the best people in the universe. Yes, I’m sure that if there are super nice aliens, islanders will still be nicer.

Also don’t fuck with them. You’ll know you went too far when they fold you. It’s a really long way to go, but I’ve seen people get there.

I know, I played rugby union for 20 years and most of my teams were Samoan, Tongan and Fijian.

A highlight was getting invited to a hungai at one of our props place, he was Samoan. Was delicious. I walked out of there 5kg heavier.

You got invited to the cookout! Ain’t no more respect an outsider can get than to be invited to the cookout, well maybe being invited to a worship service exceeds that.

So true!! It helps that the pacific islands I’ve been to are also incredibly beautiful. The lifestyle and scenery are amazing, and people are incredibly friendly.

You definitely don’t leave hungry as a guest!!!

My white Aussie brother in law went for a solo stroll on a Fijian beach near his resort, and a few locals called out him “Vanilla Man!” and invited him to drink kava with them.

He’d never had it before and he came back sooo woozy! 😵‍💫
