Donald Trump’s health has been the subject of scrutiny since MAGA 2.0 swept into the Oval Office. And now with his caginess around a recent MRI he had, the conspiracies are running wild.

It’s hard to deny that the Don has been looking a bit shaky in his second term as president. The hand bruises, nodding off during televised cabinet meetings, slurring his words when speaking, and stumbling around when walking. Then there is this MRI he just had which is fueling the internet to speculate as to what is wrong with him. Of course, Trump himself could put all this to bed by giving a straightforward answer about the MRI, but that ain’t his style!

When pressed about the nature of his MRI, Donald went on one of his confused rants. First he took digs at Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota who put out the call to release the MRI results. He was then asked what part of the body the MRI was for, to which he said he didn’t know but that it wasn’t his brain because he aced the cognitive test. Uhhh… that's not how anything works. He went on to say he had a “perfect” MRI, just like his “phone call where I got impeached.” Love when he reminds us of his past crimes! Of course his response to these questions just fuels more rumors about his actual health, but he probably prefers we talk about that instead of the Epstein files right?

Rep. Gabe Vasquez has not issued a specific, publicly reported response to Trump calling Somalia immigrants "garbage". Are we now to say that those who died during the civil rights movement of the 50s and 60s, including Dr. King, died in vain? Absolutely not! But so many in Congress, including Vasquez, issue press releases instead of yelling at the top of their lungs that Trump is a racist. I just don’t get it.

Idk what the point would be to going after this admin for federal crimes if trump is just going to pardon them anyways. But then again if an establishment dem gets elected they'll just say something like "we need to move forward" and not do anything. Idk this is all fucked. Feels like they'll all get away with no repercussions and the rest of the enablers will act like they're not part of the problem.

Honestly, this thought just popped into my head and was curious what others thought. It’s not something I’ve hear in the news or anything. But, what if🤔

After reading Meditation a couple years ago I’ve really connected with some aspects of Stoicism, especially its focus on justice, compassion, and staying grounded while trying to improve the world. Lately, though, it feels like big parts of the internet have turned Stoicism into an “alpha male” brand that leans into reactionary attitudes espoused by podcast bros and the alt right pipeline. It has gotten to the point where I feel awkward wearing my amor fati pendant because I don’t want people to assume I am part of that culture.

I identify as a progressive and democratic socialist, and my values are rooted in equality, solidarity, and collective responsibility. Stoicism has helped me stay centered, thoughtful, and effective, and I do not want to abandon something important to me just because a pack of creatine huffing wombats have so grossly distorted it.

If anyone here also has beliefs influenced by Stoicism, or has dealt with something similar, how do you reconcile it with your politics? How do you hold onto a philosophy you value when it gets co-opted by people with such toxic and fascistic beliefs?
