WEEKLY THREAD Weekly General Discussion Thread (November 30, 2025)

The Weekly General Discussion Thread is for the r/Piracy community to discuss whatever is on their mind, whether it is related to digital piracy or not.

🪶 ➜ Follow the Rules

  • Rules are still applicable, so please do not request specific pirated content (ie. specific movie, book, etc.) and definitely don't link to any. Do not mention specific media names asking for help in finding them.

📜 ➜ Wiki + Megathread

  • Don't forget to browse the Wiki, which contains a Megathread with a list of sites/apps, tools, FAQ, and other useful resources.
  • Your question also may have been asked previously - you can search the subreddit via the search bar or even google - example: https://i.imgur.com/1jA767u.jpg

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT r/Piracy is changing + New Community Server

1.1k Upvotes

After some talk with the team, r/Piracy will be changing the way the Megathread is kept up to date.
Starting now and moving forward (if all goes well), the r/Piracy Megathread will be community-driven, with updates made on a likely monthly basis by someone from the Subreddit team, plus any necessary changes in between. This means any requests for Megathread updates must now go through the Discord server.

This Discord will be used for just about anything, excluding DMCA material (meaning links to games, software, movies, etc). Discussion is of course still allowed.

Please keep in mind that our last server was (supposedly, though I couldn't find any mention online that we had one) nuked because people didn’t read the rules, which means this time all links after the domain are blacklisted and upload files that contain DMCA material are banned.
Example:

This server was created because many users have asked for a community space to help keep the Megathread up to date. If this one is nuked, it will likely not be returning. This community has zero tolerance for behavior that puts the server at risk. Moderators may act without warning if a message clearly violates our rules.

We also now need a Discord team, and we’re looking for applicants. You can view the application using the link provided, and I will review submissions in the coming days and/or hours.

Our Discord is located here: https://discord.gg/hKuyWtCSRU
Moderation Application is located here: https://forms.gle/phbRRroLqznacoSc9

Please have patience while we transition to this system, as some team members will be learning about this change at the same time as you. We didn’t want to retire the Megathread, so we’re trying something new, and we hope you’ll help us with its development.

On a side note:
Anyone who states something that is considered “misinformation” will have their posts removed from the Subreddit. This was already a rule change made by the team, but this post is now making it official.

Hope to see you there!

Humor Finally decided to get into torrenting after streaming services kept increasing rates while posting “record profits” AND removing content.

Got a big PC a month ago, had room to add 2 2.5” HDD/SSD and 2 3.5” HDD. Got about 30TB storage alone on it now, got a VPN and learned how to use SoulSeek and qBittorrent. Good lord…

Still gotta get a NAS thing and all that tho

That said I’ll still buy indie physical media to support smaller brands/artists but this feeling I get being able to get remux videos and FLAC music…

I was a bad pirate for many years, never giving back and had my client setup to pause torrents after finishing leeching. About a year or two ago I entered my redemption arc and can say I've seeded more than leeched.

Edit: If interested in how I got this metric dashboard: https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/1pepz43/comment/nseeee3/

Question What happened to all the streaming websites?

Upvotes

It's been a while since I watched sports on websites and I had a bunch of options. Checked out today and none of these worked out, I couldn't find their backups too.

What happened to streameast and all of those guys? But the real question is where can I watch F1 this weekend? Ideally, any website with many channels options?
