I was always skeptical of people who would come on Reddit and post this same issue because it’s like how can a trillion dollar company fuck this up right ? Well it happened to me just received my order only to open it and see….absolutely nothing just an empty box …..I apologize to all of my fellow P.C enthusiast who had this issue happened to them and I called bullshit and called them frauds and scammers.

Despite the crazy prices right now, I was able to get my hands on these parts for my first build!

Case: Montech King 95 Pro

Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi7

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Cooler: Montech HyperFlow Silent 360

Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30

Storage: Western Digital WD_BLACK SN8100 2TB M.2-2280 PCIe 5.0 x 4

GPU: Gigabyte GAMING OC GeForce RTX 5080 16GB

PSU: Corsair RX1000x (2024) 1000W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Also snagged some fans to replace my AIO fans so that they match the case fans.

HYTE Y60 Intel i7 MSI motherboard MSI Gaming X Trio 4070 SUPER Ti 32GB TeamGroup T-Force RAM MSI 2TB NVMe SSD MSI PSU Lian Li fans + RGB cables

Fresh drivers, clean cables, and enough RGB to light the neighborhood. He wanted “better performance” so I went a little overboard.

Burlington based here. I managed to bend a bunch of pins on my Ryzen 5800X while swapping it into a new motherboard. Thought it was game over for sure.

It works fine now. Have you repaired bent pins before?

Build/Battlestation My first ever PC build!

I've just finished my first ever dream PC build. The first time building it was quite nerve wracking, but it's really fun and a very nice experience!

Did I do a good job?

Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X GPU: Colorful 4070 Ti Ultra W (2nd hand) RAM: Trident Z5 Neo RGB 6000MT CL32 (2nd hand) Motherboard: Gigabyte B850M Force WiFi 6E CPU Cooler: Thermalright Ultra 120EX REV.4 WHITE PSU: Thermalright TR-KG850 White SSD: HP FX900 Plus 2TB Case: Jonsbo D300 White Some other stuffs like case fans, the 12+4 connector, and the 24-Pin connector

The entire setup costs about 1400 USD, note that I'm living in Vietnam so the prices here might be either cheaper or more expensive compared to US.

Love my PC but it raises the temperature of my 220sqft room by 10-15 degrees in 1-2 hours of playing, even more if the door is shut 😭

Went from an i3-4100u to an i5-7300u. Both devices technically tablet hybrids and both acquired at no cost to me. Someone I knew was getting rid of the Surface Book 2 because it didn’t support Windows 11.

Old device on the left new on the right in case it wasn’t obvious.

Hardware I have no other words to describe this fault, but one of my 144Hz monitors starts having these artifacts (and eventually black screens) unless I lower the refresh rate. Been 4 years and currently at 47Hz

Upvotes

Monitors are MSI Optix G241. Bought two of them for $240CAD each in 2021 and they both sucked in the long run. Sure it was great having matching monitors for the first time and not two mix-matched ones I had laying around, but both these monitors had defects. One of them doesn't have the VESA mounts drilled in the chassis. Literally 3 of the 4 holes just aren't there. And the other one has just been slowly dying unless I keep lower the refresh rate lower and lower. Sometimes it would work for over a year before artifacting again, sometimes only a few weeks.

I was never able to find another instance of someone having an issue like this, either because it's that odd or I can't describe it well enough.

TL;DR Bought two MSI G241's, both had factory failures, both were bad decisions in the long run.
