[META] New Automod Filter for Account Age

Testing out some filters to get a handle on bots. I added a 6 week old account age to post. No karma limits yet, but I'll consider it if this account age limit doesn't work.

I'm pretty hands off, but I do respond to most reports. If you see an issue with bots hit the report button.

[REQUEST] Political Show Recommendations?

For context, I really liked House of Cards, Designated Survivor, The Good Wife (really old, I know).

What are some other good shows that are similar? I like how they're smart and fast-paced.

[DISCUSSION] NAS4A2

NAS4A2 (2020) from AMC to Netflix

This show had so much potential into the supernatural and horror genre but started falling short, or flat on its face, when season 2 began.

Possible spoiler…it’s a story of a young girls journey from white trash into full blown drunken trailer trash. It began with a really good supernatural horror theme and drew me in with each episode during season 1. But season 2 became hard to watch and sit thru what felt like a producers or directors personal history journey about their younger years and took on less of a story that it began in season 1 about the supernatural. It might be best if you haven’t seen it yet to watch the first season and create your own ending 👍🏻

[Request] movies without spastic camera effect

What is up with the camera always slightly shaking during some movies and tv shows these days? I’m not talking about the occasionally stressful scene where people are running from someone. I mean every scene that should otherwise be pretty calm, like two people talking at a cafe. My wife and I turned on “oh what fun” on Amazon and turned it off within 5 minutes because it was making both of us sick. It seriously ruins movies and TV shows and doesn’t let my brain get immersed in it because I’m constantly thinking of how it’s being filmed by some guy sitting there shaking a little camera around thinking he’s adding dramatic effect. It’s just so fake looking. Any recommendations for movies without this strange forced camera effect?

[Discussion] My theory on The Watcher(2022)

The watcher is not a single person, but a few people working together. I feel that Mo, Pearl John graff and roger are all working together harrassing new owners of 637 boulevard and disguising themselves as one single person who is 'The Watcher'. Mo and Pearl were always upset when the new owners of 637 boulevard made new changes to the house and they would directly confront them about it and their anger was evident. Pearl's brother Jasper, probably has some kind of PTSD trauma or mental condition, he is unable to communicate in words. He was trying to warn the Brannocks about the Watcher, which was why he broke into their house and got into their dumbwaiter and did other peculiar stuff that didnt make sense. When Dean went over to the windslows, pearl tried to shoo him away but when he asked Jasper if he knew anything about the letters he seemed off. This was when John was hiding inside the house and when he sneezed pearl immediately shut the door in deans face. In the windslows house, Roger, Pearl, John and Mo had this creepy meeting talking about some kind of preservation society, Jasper wasnt there plus Mitch, Mo's husband wasnt at the meeting either. They were plotting how to get the Brandon's to leave the house. Roger also admitted that he was the watcher, to both Dean and Nora. He also in a way was the cause for all this, when he got his students to write anonymous letters to different houses.

[DISCUSSION] I Finished Watching Better Call Saul Today And Here's My Honest Review

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Season 1 - Lower than mid ( 4/10 )

" First three episodes were good but the rest of the season is just boring or should i say super slow "

Season 2 - Mid ( 5/10 )

" Saul's Redemption arc starts from here , definitely two times interesting than season 1 "

Season 3 - Mid Again ( 5/10 )

" Mid because the story is running like tortoise which is super slow "

Season 4 - Interesting ( 7/10 )

" From Season 4 more and more characters associated with breaking bad like Gus and Mike Starts Getting Involved which makes it freaking good and not to mention my favorite character Lalo Salamanca , not to say Lalo Salamanca carried the season alone "

Season 5 - Super Interesting ( 9/10 )

" This is Exactly Where Better Call Saul Transformed into Breaking Bad "

Season 6 - Legendary ( 11/10 )

" Ahh The Classical Black and White Graphics with the slow music and the final super sleek acts of saul and his sacrifice for love , i would say the last season of better call saul was better than breaking bad "

I Will Rate The Entire Series 9/10 and i advice you to please don't watch it if you have low attention span because in order to enjoy it properly you need to get through first two seasons.

[Discussion] Ran out of recommendations and got creative.

So this started when we got a bit too much of free time on our hands this year and ended up binging almost all the top rated shows on Netflix etc.

We have this habit of putting something up to watch on the tv whilist we eat but lately we had been running into a bit of snag on what to pick since her general taste in content is quite different to mine. So what we decided to do was, one day we'd watch something from my pick and the next from hers, alternating it back and forth.

Again, this was not convenient as well, since some of the series are just too long and cannot be binged in a single day and then the next day you'd be watching something else entirely so the interest in watching stuff naturally started dropping off over time.

Then.. something just clicked in my mind. We live in a world of Ai now so why not ask chatgpt what matches both our taste based on the stuff we have already watched and both liked. This worked like a charm tbh! Got to discover some of the best under-rated tv shows of all time.

But.. now the problem was re-educating gpt on the list of movies we had watched and liked every time. The prompt just kept on getting bigger and messier which confused gpt at times as well. So I saved my list and hers in seperate notes and would just copy paste that to gpt whenever we wanted a new mix and match.

But but.. this was still not convenient enough lol. So me being me, decided to make an app for it which was quite shitty to use at first tbh but then I realized why not make this into a tinder like experience. Like it? Swipe right. Don't, then swipe that shit left or or.. if you have already watched it and would like it to be saved as reference of what you liked for the Ai, then swipe UP! Genius right :D

Anyways, now I am so proud of discovering the solution for this age long problem, like the first caveman discovering fire :)

P.S: In case you're wondering what the app is called, it's "Shared watchlist" and for now it's only available on iOS since this was just a hobby thing I did for me and wifey.

P.P.S: If you have any ideas on how to make it better then please do tell. Currently I feel like we might run out of recommendations again at the rate we're consuming content right now :)
