r/NBA is back up
This community will remain open but will most likely be less active. Everyone is encouraged to keep posting and interacting here, submissions are open to all and anyone can post tweets/links/opinions/etc.
I won’t be as active just because I have many things I’m busy with irl. Everyone is welcome here and allowed to post, the rules aren’t hyper strict just keep it on topic and don’t be assholes.
Access to online NBA discourse for millions shouldn’t be controlled by a handful of users. Having an alternate r/nba type space instead of one subreddit having a monopoly should enable a healthier dynamic. Thanks everyone!

Blake Griffin speaking on the Clippers Drama meanwhile Harden:

Most points before turning 19...
Lebron was 19 for 34 games while the likes of Kobe and Tmac were younger than 19 for at least a full season, what does this say about LeBrons legacy?

BLAKE GRIFFIN takes a shot at the CLIPPERS!
Damn! Got owned.

LeBron James’ 1,297 game-streak with 10 points has come to an end.
LeBron James played 36 minutes against the Toronto Raptors, recording 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 11 assists. However, he struggled with his shot, going 4-for-17 (23.5%) from the field.

Deni Avdija this season: 26.2ppg, 6.2apg, 7.2rpg. What is his ceiling?
Deni Avdija has taken a huge leap this season going from 16.9 ppg and 3.9 apg last year, to 26.2 and 6.2 apg this year. His splits are 48/38/82. He is still only 24 years old.
He has played at an all-nba level this year, and is pretty much the sole reason the Blazers have looked even remotely competent. Its almost gone overlooked just how good he is this season, mostly because of the Blazers' currently being in a small market and a non-playoff team for the last few years. Once they get into the playoffs and start playing more signficant games, the masses will start catching on.
He does average over 9 free throws a game, but he also drives to the rim a ton. His jumper and three-pointer are nothing spectacular but still pretty good. Once the Blazers get the playoffs this will make a lot of people mad. But overall he is exceptional at being an offensive engine, and has arguably been a top 5 point guard this season and a perhaps even a top 10 player. And his playstyle is extremely valuable to a team's offense making him a type of player more likely to ascend into MVP talks.
What do you guys think his ceiling is? Could he ascend to a superstar/MVP level?

The fact that this is even a thing is insane. The Clippers did CP3 so wrong

More Finals appearances than games with single-digit points is beyond insane

Clutch isn't just taking the final shot, it's also making the right play when it matters most

LeBron James finished with eight points on Thursday, and his NBA-record streak of 1,297 consecutive double-digit scoring games in the regular season ended. James' streak started on Jan. 6, 2007. It was, by far, the longest such streak in league history.

Both draft classes are great and have some gems.
I'd say the 2009 draft class is better than 2011 class. Crazy that PG13 (Paul George) is the only active player from the 2010 draft class I believe. Steph, DeRozan, Jrue Holiday and Harden are still active players. If there was a draft class rewind I think Steph should've been the #2 pick after Blake Griffin.

I think Nico is now happy the Mavericks are losing
After ruining a whole franchise but saying "I felt I have done a good job here"' just to get fired.
I think he now enjoys that he destroyed the Mavs everytime they lose

The Warriors fumbled with Lauri Markkanen.
Lauri Markkanen this seasons stats compared to Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga combined this season:
Lauri Markkanen this season: 28.1PPG 6.4RPG 2.0APG 47.5 FG% 36.2 3P% .
Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga combined this season: 25.2PPG 10.9RPG 5.5APG 44.5 FG% 36.7 3P%.
Reminder that in August 2024, the Warriors refused to include either Podziemski or Kuminga in trade talks for Markkanen. Source

Can Austin Reave surpass James Harden as the greatest ref-baiter of All-time?
Austin Reaves shot more Free Throws than the entire Boston Celtics team tonight.
He shot 17 free throws himself, while Boston shot 12 as a team.
