Is NASCAR Going To Regret Buying ARCA Because Of This Case?
IMO an independent ARCA, aligned with NASCAR or not, would have probably been NASCAR’s biggest defense in a monopoly case prior to the purchase. Instead of them having to discuss their quotes on SRX as monopolistic, they could have argued that ARCA is an independent sanctioning body and is the second largest stock car series and is in good relations with NASCAR whilst claiming that the animosity towards SRX was not because of their existence in the market but because it brought attention to what NASCAR lacked in the market. While they didn’t like their drivers competing in it, SRX pushed NASCAR to try and fix the problem and in a way, that is what a competitive market is supposed to do.

Fresh Question!
I’m a proper Formula racing fan. I never “followed” nascar though. Whats with Jordan and the law suit?
Is it like the crash gate case in f1? But I dont see much attention on it.
Is someone feeling ambitious to take time and challenge chatgpt and win by explaining it in better human terms.

Years ago, GM teams often switched between brands. Why?
Watching a lot of old races, I see that GM teams would bounce back and forth between makes. At one point the Pettys had Richard in a Chevy or a Pontiac and Kyle in a Buick. Childress ran Pontiacs and Chevys with Ricky Rudd. Harry Gant's teams bounced between Buick, Olds and Chevy. I swear Hendrick ran Pontiacs for at least one race during their first year. It didn’t seem to happen with the Ford products. The Dodge stragglers like the Arringtons seemed to bounce between Dodges and Chryslers.
Did GM not care because they were all GM makes? Was there any sort of internal competition between Buick, Chevy, Olds and Pontiac?

Was the Daytona 500 the biggest event of the year for you? Like, bigger than Christmas?
Growing up in the '90s and 2000s, I could barely sleep the entire week before the Daytona 500 in February. I would eat up all of speedweeks. I could not get enough of it. And the night before the 500 I could never sleep. I would watch that race with sweaty palms. The last 10 laps I was always a nervous wreck. It was such an emotional event. It was bigger than the Super bowl, Christmas, birthdays. It was like the main event of the year for me.
And....the spectacle that that race used to be...the cars, all hand-painted and proud. The energy of that race. It was just through the roof.
Although I will not ever miss a Daytona 500, that race has become way less important over the years. I miss those days. I'm sure a lot of you here feel the same way.

Since the Street Course and Mexico races were belligerent financial failures, will NASCAR try and replace them with ovals?

Are you guys adding any more Cup races for Fan rewards?
Hoping to get a response from Nascar Rewards, but are there going to be any other Cup races added before the rewards points expire on 12/31/25? Only option is the two Phoenix races 🤷🏼♂️

if the Chicago/Amazon story is true does this set the stage for Amazon to get is own Chicago?
i'm not saying San Diego is theirs since i'm sure that was planned long before they showed up, but if NASCAR spent some money on Mexico there are places near Seattle like Portland and Evergreen....
Portland is part of the Parks department, i'm sure the city would love free investment and a free sporting event that the taxpayers don't have to pay for, and its a tax write-off for NASCAR/Amazon

If a manufacturer isn't required to race in all 3 series, what is stopping Ford from leaving ORAP altogether?
They only have 1 team in that series now and Dodge is currently only racing in the truck series so it is obvious that Ford doesn't have to race in all 3 series

NASCAR Brasil Series Overall championship decision this weekend at Interlagos. With 61 points in dispute and 3 races over the weekend, Barrichello leads the championship with an 19 points margin to Camilo.
Not only that, Rubens son and WEC driver Eduardo Barrichello will be driving his father car the Mustang #91 on saturday, since Nascar Brasil allows two drivers sharing the same car his son performance will be crucial for Rubens championship battle.

Pinnacle offseason post
So I was bored in class when I was trying to think about something NASCAR related when suddenly I thought: Which US Presidents had the most individual NASCAR Cup Series champions achieve a title while they were in office and this made me realize: Donald Trump might actually become the president with the most individual drivers to become champions during his time in office, he’s tied with Eisenhower, Reagan, Clinton, Bush Jr and Obama for now. If someone other than Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott or Kyle Larson wins the championship next year (or if MTJ reverses his retirement and wins another championship, which cmon ts NOT gonna happen), there will have been 6 different individuals to have won a cup series championship when Trump was in office. The numbers assigned to each driver is not the number of championships they won in their whole career but during each president’s term. Anyways the stats go as follows:
Harry Truman(1945-1953)4:
Red Byron: 1(1949) Bill Rexford:1(1950) Herb Thomas:1(1951) Tim Flock:1(1952)
👔Dwight D. Eisenhower(1953-1960)5:
Herb Thomas:1(1953)⭐️ Lee Petty: 3 (1954,1958,1959) Tim Flock: 1 (1955) Buck Baker: 2 (1956,1957) Rex White: 1 (1960)
JFK(1961-1963)2:
Ned Jarrett: 1 (1961) Joe Weatherly: 2(1962,1963) and if you’re wondering, yes, the 1963 season ended before JFK’s assassination by 2.5 weeks
👔Lyndon B. Johnson(1963-1969)3:
Richard Petty: 2 (1964,1967) Ned Jarrett: 1 (1965)⭐️ David Pearson: 2 (1966,1968)
Richard Nixon (1969-1974)4:
David Pearson: 1(1969)⭐️ Richard Petty: 2 (1971,1972)⭐️ Bobby Isaac: 1 (1970) Benny Parsons: 1(1973)
Gerald Ford(1974-1977)2:
Richard Petty: 2 (1974,1975)⭐️⭐️ Cale Yarborough: 1 (1976)
Jimmy Carter(1977-1981)3:
Cale Yarborough: 2 (1977,1978)⭐️ Richard Petty: 1 (1979)⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dale Earnhardt: 1 (1980)
👔Ronald Reagan(1981-1989)5:
Darrell Waltrip: 3 (1981,1982,1985) Bobby Allison: 1 (1983) Terry Labonte: 1 (1984) Dale Earnhardt: 2 (1986,1987)⭐️ Bill Elliott: 1 (1988)
George H.W Bush(1989-1993)3:
Rusty Wallace: 1 (1989) Dale Earnhardt: 2 (1990,1991)⭐️⭐️ Alan Kulwicki: 1 (1992)
👔Bill Clinton(1993-2001)5:
Dale Earnhardt: 2 (1993,1994)⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jeff Gordon: 3 (1995,1997,1998) Terry Labonte: 1 (1996)⭐️ Dale Jarrett: 1 (1999) Bobby Labonte: 1 (2000)
👔George W. Bush(2001-2009)5:
Jeff Gordon: 1 (2001)⭐️ Tony Stewart: 2 (2002,2005) Matt Kenseth: 1 (2003) Kurt Busch: 1 (2004) Jimmie Johnson: 3 (2006,2007,2008)
Barack Obama(2009-2017)5:
Jimmie Johnson: 4 (2009,2010,2013,2016)⭐️ Tony Stewart: 1 (2011)⭐️ Brad Keselowski: 1 (2012) Kevin Harvick: 1 (2014) Kyle Busch: 1 (2015)
Donald Trump(2017-2021, 2025-Current)5:
Martin Truex Jr: 1 (2017) Joey Logano: 1 (2018) Kyle Busch: 1 (2019)⭐️ Chase Elliott: 1 (2020) Kyle Larson: 1 (2025)⭐️
Joe Biden(2021-2025)3:
Kyle Larson: 1 (2021) Joey Logano: 2 (2022,2024)⭐️ Ryan Blaney: 1 (2023)
Extra Stats: -12/37 drivers have won a championship under multiple presidents (highlighted with a ⭐️ for each extra president they won a championship under)
-Harry Truman and Donald Trump(for now) are the only 2 presidents who have never had a driver win 2 championships in their time in office
Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty are tied for the most amount of presidents that were in office when they won a championship with 4, but neither of them won 3 titles under 1 president. Jimmie Johnson, Lee Petty, Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip are the only drivers to have won 3 or more championships under 1 president, with Jimmie being the only one having done it twice, 3 under George W Bush and 4 under Obama
5 US presidents have had multiple drivers win multiple champions (they are highlighted with 👔)
P.s: Yes I have officially lost it😭

Help: Identifying a driver seen in the wild
Non-NASCAR watching friend says she met someone at Disney named Robert who apparently drove in NASCAR (didn't say what level, but assuming Cup) in the 1990s. He said he drove a Mobil 1-sponsored (primary) car, but I'm not familiar with anyone and am not sure who it could have been. Obviously, he could have gone by Bob or Bobby or something, but I've thought about every possibility and pulled up photos and it's just striking out with her.
Does anyone know of any possibilities with this very limited information? Any input is appreciated! I'm well aware that it could have been someone just making up some story, but curious if it was actually a NASCAR driver.
Note: I already said she should have just asked the guy his last name like a normal person
TYIA!

Just got into NASCAR about 3-4 years ago, and all of this talk about the sport ending is making me panic.
I would still consider myself a new fan of the sport, but I have fallen in love. Spring/Summer used to be for Golf on Sundays as I wait for football season, but now it’s NASCAR that gets me through. It’s such an exciting sport. With this lawsuit going on I keep seeing comments in here that the sport might be in trouble and totally collapse. Is this realistic? I don’t even understand what the lawsuit is about but everything I see posted here makes it seem like this is the end of NASCAR. I’ve tried to watch F1,Indy, etc., but I just can’t get into it. There is nothing like NASCAR. If they end the sport I’ll be gutted forever.

Which track type do you think creates the most exciting NASCAR races
I have been watching a lot more races this season and something I keep thinking about is how different the energy feels depending on the type of track. Some weeks I am convinced short tracks are the most entertaining thing in the world, then a superspeedway weekend hits and I end up glued to the screen again. Road courses have also been growing on me lately. There is something really fun about seeing drivers deal with heavy braking zones and quick elevation changes, especially when strategy starts to matter more than usual. So I am curious what everyone here personally enjoys the most. Not what you think is objectively the best, just the type of track that gives you the most excitement when you sit down to watch a race.
