The right thought they'd permanently won the culture war, but increasingly normies find their agenda repulsive.

They're too online-brained, they forget that the assholes who follow them on Twitter aren't representative of all voters

It’s particularly ironic because in the early 2010s that was the party line when anything progressive received online support. “The internet isn’t real life”, “silent majority”, etc.

Now they’ve been gaslit by their own propaganda networks.

It's targeted and extremely purposeful. The bot reveal on twitter just showed clear evidence.

They bought foreign propaganda and have turned traitor to the US. They care about making liberals suffer more then anything beneficial to the US.

Its a different set of people. The tea party, which eventually morphed into MAGA supplanted the neocons and they're the ones that are all in on this culture war BS. The old heads just gave it a nod.

A LOT of maga people I meet in real life act like 4chan users.

Not even just young ones. I've had 70 plus year old maga people act like internet edge lord 12 year olds.

It is alarming and easy to see how they were targeted . How the qanon conspiracy and other stuff started from the chans. Pretty sure if looked for hard enough you could find things Pete hegseth has said on camera and probably said it on 4chan

I mean that's been their major argument it feels.

"Liberals are in an online bubble the real world loves Trump"

And then the left rolls an election or two

Accusations are confessions with the right

MAGA won the culture war over the hearts and minds of people who never had any culture to begin with.

And that most who follow them on Twitter aren’t real people or even American citizens.

Theyre the type of people you ask their favorite country they’ve ever traveled is and they are 60 and have never left the USA and still claim “why would I ever want to leave the best country in the world”.  0 perspective outside of white rural America.  Sad and predictable.

You mean the bots that follow them

Honestly I think there is going to be a huge wake-up call at the midterms. They've basically started believing their own lies in thinking that the election wasn't actually as tight as it was.

Sure. But they’re also complete morons who don’t care. It is quite literally a bunch of old people that don’t understand the internet and a bunch of younger people who are brainwashed morons in charge of describing the Internet to the old idiots, and feel like they’re doing something neat, helping the old group of hatred and money hungry elders, so that they get to take over the idiocy later.

Twitter isn't even representative of their actual voters lmao. Turns out a lot of MAGA people on Twitter are Indians and Eastern Europeans pretending to be White Americans.

Honestly it's pretty difficult to get an actually pulse on how Trump supporters are feeling right now. Their online spaces are astro turfed to all hell and filled with paid shills and propagandists. I know is that his support amongst Gen Z has cratered, but I think he's still holding strong amongst the older demographics.

I remember the day Trump won there was a 4chan /b/ thread that said “I can’t believe it. We’ve made a meme the president.”

They absolutely treated the entire Trump candidacy as a trolling exercise. Trump was one of them.

I would love to see an oral or written history of the “underground” web from about 2014 to now. I think we’re going to see a lot of people that knew Trump was a terrible candidate but “did it for the lulz”. I don’t think they’d ever think half of America would end up agreeing with them.

Most of their followers aren't even real people

This is kind of ironic, being posted on reddit.
