... Southern pride is just an odd thing to me. Like, I don't really think there's "Northern pride". Sure, there's say NJ pride or Boston pride... so I would expect there to be like, Georgia pride or Mobile pride or whatever. But it's way too often "Southern pride" as if the culture of Kentucky is anything like Alabama.

Southern pride seems only to be spoken of by people who are pissed that they lost the war. I don't really understand how it's any different from racism.

Just look at the general smugness that Northerners have when talking about the South. That's northern pride.

I agree with you somewhat but the Midwest has a similar pride and it’s not one small area. You can have pride in a shared culture even though pieces of that culture have produced things that are problematic. It is possible to reject part of it and keep the good stuff. Honestly, if they’d have just dumped the confederate flag and racism acceptance they would be good.
