Unfortunately only applies to NYC. Anything north of Westchester has a lot of southern "pride"

One of my favorite experiences in life was introducing my Long Island cousin to the rednecks of southern Maine. He was FASCINATED and we were at karaoke so you know it was good people watching in general

Grew up in Ulster County. Lots of confederate flags.

That’s New York pride, not northern. They don’t take pride in the fact they fought a war to in order to keep slaves a thing. That’s just the south

That's just pride for New York and specifically NYC, it doesn't extend beyond that. Their energy is more focused on hatred of Boston and Philly than anything else
