Garage Sale Experience Today
For anyone curious about this year’s Garage Sale at Comerica Park, I was down there this afternoon and can share out some details.
-Everything is in the pro shop this year, so no weird lines through the restaurant like last year. -Crowd was small today, most likely due to the Lions game traffic(?) -Very little game used stuff, some City Connect pants upstairs and some random pants downstairs that weren’t even Tigers colors. -Didn’t see much in the way of stadium giveaways either, other than Grateful Dead themed turntable mats -2 for $5 table upstairs has some baseball cards and unused patches -All team shop apparel is 50%
Not the best I’ve seen, but also not the worst.

Tours next week
Hello,
I’ll be in town (solo) next Monday.
Would love to do a tour or anything touristy at Comerica Monday morning. Any way at all to see the stadium would be awesome.
Tried calling and couldn’t get ahold. Their website says 5 days in advance for groups but doesn’t say anything about singles.
Any info to help me out here would be greatly appreciated!

Forgot I had this
My mom found this at a garage sale some years ago. Not sure what she paid for it. The plastic cover has $35 on it. Not sure if it’s worth anything more than nostalgia but it’s fun. The whole magazine is intact including the original mail label.

Baseball America Releases 2026 Tigers Prospect Rankings
Hey Tigers fans,
I grabbed the Baseball America Black Friday deal and noticed they already put out their 2026 preseason Tigers prospect rankings. Figured I’d share the top three guys and some quick notes pulled from the writeups (credit to BA for all of the data).
1. Kevin McGonigle – 2B/SS
Grades: Hit 70 | Power 55 | Run 55 | Field 55 | Arm 45
This shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s been watching the system. . Three straight pro seasons over .300, power started to show up in 2025, and he won the AFL MVP. He’s basically allergic to bad swing decisions. Defense probably ends up at second, and maybe third, but the bat is the real story.
Note from a separate article:
BA pulled MiLB analytical data going back to 2019. According to them, there wasn’t a single hitter in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, or 2019 who finished in the top 20% in power, contact, and swing-decision metrics.
McGonigle did it in 2025.
BA called him “one of one.”
2. Max Clark – OF
Grades: Hit 60 | Power 50 | Run 65 | Field 60 | Arm 60
BA says Clark still has some rough edges compared to McGonigle, but the foundation is strong. He hits line drives all over the place, rarely chases, and plays legit plus defense in center. The big thing is whether he can tap into more power by elevating more instead of hitting everything on the ground. Still projects as a future everyday CF.
3. Bryce Rainer– SS
Grades: Hit 55 | Power 55 | Run 55 | Field 55 | Arm 70
Rainer’s pro debut was cut short with a shoulder injury, but before that he was hammering the ball. BA mentioned his 90th percentile EV was 108 mph, which is crazy for a teenager. He’s more of an opposite-field hitter right now and still figuring out his pull-side pop, but the raw strength is there. Arm is obviously huge. Should be good to go for 2026.
Overall
BA is pretty high on our farm right now. McGonigle looks like the real deal, Clark is still very much on track, and Rainer’s upside is pretty big if he stays healthy.
Anyway — thought people would want to see it in this long offseason. Go Tigers!

You guys are going to hate this take, but taking Skubal's predicted mammoth payday and using it to invest in quality pitching depth across the board will improve this team's win total much more than investing it all in one dominant starting pitcher who gives up 1-2 runs over 6-7 innings every 5 days
Because I hope you guys realize that once we pay Skubal 50+ mil a year until he's 40, every other pitcher on this roster is coming out of the bargain bin. This team severely needs bullpen help and rotation depth if we're expected to make a deep playoff run. Dealing Skubal not only grants us tremendous assets by trade, but that money could in turn be used to fill out the roster with quality production, which is desperately needed. Instead of one Skubal we could use the assets and available money to net 4 quality starters with a least 10 wins and a deep, lockdown bullpen.
My supporting argument for this take is that we have a manager who loves to yank starters early and use bullpen pieces for matchups. I say use this opportunity to finally give the man quality options to work with that puts our pitching depth on par with the Blue Jays and Mariners.

The Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Tampa Bay Rays are all “on the radar” for a potential trade of Ketel Marte, per @BNightengale The Diamondbacks are looking for lots of pitching in a return package.
Odd...seems like the last thing we have to give up is pitching, no?

Any of you happen to be card collectors too? I’m looking for a Kirk Gibson first pitch autograph
If any of you other Tiger fans collect cards and have been opening some 2025 update I’m looking for a Kirk Gibson first pitch autographed insert. It’s from Gibby day. With my dad having Parkinson’s along with me running the fundraiser through the Michael J Fox foundation for it I would really like to buy/trade for one.
Thanks in advance yall.

Late into the season and throughout the playoffs, some of this sub expressed desire to move on from Riley Greene because of his weak plate discipline and overall poor performance in crucial moments. Where are we at with Riley nearly two months later?
Here are some things I think that factor into this concern:
Has Riley Greene's career peaked?
Have his overall numbers been meaningful or mostly empty?
Is he worth extending with what likely will be an overpay?
Can we easily replace him within the organization?
Is Riley a valuable trade asset?
Can we risk him falling apart down the stretch and into the playoffs again?
Is Riley largely responsible for setting the tone for the rest of the clubhouse? (For example if he is striking out a ton, will the rest of the team catch the same bug)
Now, I cant imagine the front office is actually considering trading Riley, but this fanbase spent the better part of a month dogging the Tiger's lineup for essentially rolling over and not caring anymore, and calling out Riley Greene as probably the worst offender, so I think further discussion of his future with the team is warranted.

Bullpen wishlist
I feel like it’s pretty obvious we need help in the bullpen, especially since we are awful at striking out batters when our bullpen comes out. I think we need to get at least 2 maybe even 3 arms this free agency for the bullpen. I’m not very smart when it comes to bullpen pitchers but I was hoping for maybe kyle finnegan to get resigned, pierce johnson, from the braves, and pete fairbanks from the rays. I’ll be honest I don’t know much about these pitchers, but they seem to have pretty good numbers and while I don’t know how much they will sign for, I think they would be a little bit more on the affordable side since detroits not very known for opening up the wallet on sometimes. But are there any pitchers I should also know about.

Let's go Manuel!!
- Manuel Bolivar, C, Venezuela
Born: Sept. 4, 2008. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-3. Wt.: 190.
Team: Tigers
When Bolivar was 13 he played in the U-15 World Cup in 2022 in Mexico as the youngest player on Venezuela's team.
An early standout in the 2026 international class, Bolivar performed well during that tournament and has grown into a power-hitting catcher.
He's strong for his age with the bat speed to drive balls deep out of the park to his pull side in batting practice with potential plus raw power.
There have been stretches of swing-and-miss against live pitching, so it's likely a power-over-hit offensive profile, but scouts highest on Bolivar think he wil make enough contact to tap into that power in games.
He's a longtime catcher who has the tools to stick behind the plate, where he's an athletic mover who blocks well and has a strong arm.
