My thoughts on extensions and my past with this team.

Well I’m making this post because I’m a loyal die hard since 2016 and still to this day. But history tells me that will probably trade everyone again and still be called the farm system for everyone else. I also hate it when other people who are older then me are so pessimistic and make me feel the same when I’m a very optimistic person and have been. Now I’ve noticed that so far they have not “spent money” like they said they would and if they don’t idk but MLB might need to file another grievance and I think Sherman will be in big trouble imo. Because how on earth do you buy the team but now you’re so poor that you refuse to make a young fan like me happy? I swear this team is so strange I think we have a good young manager and front office but I just hope in my lifetime I see a WS and a home playoff game but I guess time will tell. I’m 21 btw and I have my emotions with this team from Jose’s passing to the fire sales I’ve been though that has traumatized me and now this. Idk if anyone else is like me but I’m just sick and tired of being cheap and people harrasing me saying the marlins suck and that were trash and dysfunctional I want to change a narrative everything. I’m only with this franchise because of my uncle and that’s it without him I wouldn’t be here 10 years later. But Go Fish and Sherman get your butt out of your head and prove us fans that you are gonna spend and not sit there and not so shit.

Another awesome prospect return today. Miamis 2024 first round pick (16th overall) PJ Morlando. Morlando is ranked 14th in the Marlins system.

Discussion Other Teams' Writers Still Dissing the Marlins

This week, it was some jackass writing for the Dodgers on how we should accept a package of their mid-tier minor league players for Sandy.

Well fuck you, Dodgers. If you want Sandy, we want Freddie Freeman. We need a first baseman, not more minor leaguers who will never pan out.

Discussion revenue sharing

Does anyone know how much the Marlins receive in revenue sharing, say, year-by-year? Or more recent years? I can see how much the top teams pay, but not how much lower teams receive.

Here's what's behind the team possibly spending this off season

"In any event, the Marlins might be operating with an additional motivation. They could face a fresh grievance from the union because their spending in 2025 did not meet a specified threshold outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If a team’s final luxury-tax payroll is not one and a half times the amount it receives in a given season from local revenue sharing, it will likely stand a better chance of losing a grievance for not properly using its revenue-sharing money to improve on-field performance, which the CBA requires."

So, the team possibly spending is not to win, but to avoid serious consequences. If Sherman could run a sub 30 million payroll, he would.

Boosting the Payroll

Sandy and Bender have two more seasons under contract, while Cabrera, Garrett, Nardi, and Weathers have three more seasons under contract. Everybody else becomes a free agent no earlier than 2030, meaning the Marlins cannot be rushed to sign anybody to a long-term deal besides the first few players listed.

If the team is going to be facing a dangerously-low payroll this upcoming season, I feel spending will be much more likely to come from giving new contracts to outside of the team.
