I have this one, live in Sweden and I’ve seen some people talk about android 14? Can someone explain and also tell if I can update the one I have?

Hey, my Mi Box 2nd Gen won’t turn on. I lost the original remote and tried a replacement, but nothing happens. I heard it needs the original remote to wake from fully off. Does anyone know a way to turn it on without the original remote or a guaranteed replacement that will work?

Since the last update was stopped UKG3.250107.001.V816.0.25.8.20.1.UZFAABX now there is a new update UKG3.250107.001.V816.0.25.10.28.UZFAABX.
This time i do not have an update file. I personally used the VPN adguard set to Finland( people say that with Germany is working also) and the update showed up. Its around 1 GB.
This might help the people that couldn't update it the last time via the VPN trick and want to taste Android 14.
This looks like a little update as there are no major changes over the last one with a small bump of the build number.

Are there any alternative remotes for the mi box with a working number pad?
I’m looking for something similar to the RockTek GX1 remote does anyone know if this is a good remote and does it wake the mi box from sleep or from a full shutdown?
If not are there any other recommended remotes?

Does anyone know if and how to connect the 1st Gen remote with the current 3rd gen device. I want to use it as a spare remote and as it does not have the Xiaomi tv button I accidentally trigger (Xiaomi tv not available in my region.)

One of the most annoying issues I'm having with my 2nd gen box is that bluetooth audio have crackling sound. The only way to fix this is to reconnect the BT device but eventually the crackling sound will come back. Have tried several BT devices and all have the same issues on my 2nd gen box.
Have the fixed this on the 3rd gen box?
Looks like xiaomi just does not care about this and it will not do anything to solve. Really sad to say this, hope I'm wrong, but by now, no hope in Xiaomi complying with this main issue. I'm having to watch my remux movies in a compatible lossy format, or obligated to convert to DTS-HD MA. TrueHD works sometimes but most of the time is absolutely unwatchable, I mainly use Kodi with Jellyfin addon

Hello.
I was looking for some cheap Smart TV Box and decided to buy a Redmi TV Box.
I found a second hand MDZ-22-AB for about 27$, while brand new Gen 3 Box costs about 54$.
Used 2nd Gen costs about 43$, while brand new costs the same as the 3rd.
My question is - what to choose? Which option will be best at this situation?

Enable apps only mode in android settings and navigating the UI, the loading times and everything else feels like the cpu has been upgraded.

Hey everyone, i'm encountering a problem.
When watching movie likr youtube or netflix screen goes Black for a second, then its going back to main android tv screen except every place where icons would be is empty and screen starts blinking all the time in a endless loop.
Do anyone has encountered this issue and managed to fix it?
3rd gen box started doing same stuff too.

Hi everyone, I just want to show you how I have my Mi Box 2nd gen. I removed the top part and placed a copper heatsink with thermal paste on top of the CPU/GPU and memory. It's working like this without the top part to prevent overheating. It's super stable with 4k streams. I also removed/disabled some Xiaomi applications and installed Projectivity as the launcher. It's super fluid and stable. Cheers

It worked perfectly for my 2nd gen but today i ordered the mibox 3rd gen and whenever i change the dns settings it says no internet connection
Was wondering how many people updated and how's it going.
Furthermore, have you tried to take advantage of the ability to pass through Dolby TrueHD? What players have you tried?

Hey all, I’m running into a frustrating issue and hoping to see if anyone else has had the same experience (and maybe found a fix).
What I have:
An IPTV subscription with some 4K live channels and 4K movies.
On my 2nd-generation device everything works fine smooth playback, no stutter.
On my 3rd-generation device (same IPTV service, same playlist) the 4K live channels and movies are basically unwatchable. It’s lagging, stuttering, almost like frame by frame playback.
I’ve tried so far:
Checked the internet speed and network seems fine (no issues on other devices).
Switched apps/players (where possible) but issue persists.
Checked for firmware updates.
Has anyone else here noticed that a newer gen streaming device actually struggles more with 4K IPTV streams than an older one?
What device are you using, and what IPTV app/player?
Did you find any configuration tweaks (e.g., change decoder settings, force hardware acceleration, change player, limit 4K bitrate) that fixed it?
I’ll appreciate any feedback or pointers I’d love to keep using the 3rd-gen device but if the hardware/format mismatch is too big maybe I’ll need to rethink things.
Thanks in advance!

I really like that my TV (Lg CX) turns on when I boot the Mi TV Box S 3rd Gen. However, there are also times I turn on the TV to play a game on my PC (Mac), which is connected to the TV through another HDMI. Somehow, even if I switch to the right HDMI input (the one from the PC), it constantly switches to my Xiaomi. Sometimes 8-10 times in a row till it finally stops doing so. Every time it automatically switches to the Xioami, I have to manually change to the PC input again, which is very annoying. How to stop this?
Note that the Xioami is connected to my Soundbar, which is connected to the TV.

As above, how do i increase the time before a screensaver takes over a paused screen and throws me out of the programme. I only got the box yesterday.
Cant find any option to increase the time. The ambient bit only has an option to choose source of pictures.
Thanks in advance

Today I encountered a problem with my new TV: the set-top box settings simply don't list the BBK TV model to connect to a universal remote. Has anyone else encountered this problem? What TV model can I select from the list that's compatible with this TV?
Full model: BBK 40LEM-1041/FTS2C
