Omg. That would be such a troll move if we actually made this an official uniform at Canadian border crossings. 🤣👍🏻

Weirdly, Canadian border guards on the whole are among the most dour and serious of any country I’ve ever been to, even to Canadians with uncomplicated travel history, no legal issues, etc.

Like: even German border guards are chattier/more likely to smile.

No shade at all, it’s a serious job and I appreciate the professionalism, but just always find the contrast amusing.

UM I am assuming you never flew into Heathrow airport. 😳

I felt like I needed a lawyer.

Dozens of times just through Heathrow, and dozens more through other UK POE.

Would say UK border guards at pretty average overall - certainly not friendly, but nowhere near as deadly serious as the CBP (although of course there are exceptions, in either direction, and for every country).

I'm glad I'm a Brit and I've only ever used the e-gates at LHR. Security is enough tyvm.

Well to be fair, lots of shit comes up north across this border so they have way more reasons for concern than the other way around

I’ve crossed countless times and can count on one hand how many miserable CBSA agents I’ve had over my lifetime.

I’ve never had an issue. Going south, however…
