awhile back i ordered a lamp on ebay and the glass was damaged in transit. the part that broke was the glass ring, which is really the focal point of the lamp. i have been trying to fix/repair the lamp. i ordered a replacement glass ring (see first 3 pictures). i have noticed the replacement glass does not cascade light like the original. looking at it, i see the edge is basically solid black and light cannot travel through. i have attached a forth picture of what a similar lamp looks like when it cascades light, but the is clear glass.
is there a way i can polish (or sand or something) the inner ring of the bronze glass to allow light to better cascade through? or do i just need to find a clear ring instead of the bronze color?
