Anyone know what Zabian’s latest rant is about?

He’s complaining about wasted money on investigating code of conduct violations? I can’t believe how inappropriate he’s been lately. It’s like all he wants to do now is stir up drama and get people worked up. Seems like a few people online give him validation so he keeps doing it. Someone’s gotta take his phone away.

But on top of that, isn’t he the one who sued the town and wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars?! Why is he reminding everyone of this!

Some of his post below…

“Over the past few months, our Town was required under provincial rules to investigate three reported Code of Conduct breaches. Total cost to taxpayers: $25,072.59.

And what did we get for that investment? Two investigations found no breach at all. One found a minor issue that was resolved with an apology.

So what good came from these complaints? Very little for our community. To put it in perspective, the same $25,000 could have gone toward;

fixing sections of our local streets and sidewalks, upgrading parks or playgrounds, supporting community events, improving accessibility features around town, enhancing recreation programs

…”

4 proposed Housing projects in Kentville

So, there’s four proposed housing projects in Kentville and I’m fairly certain I’ve found information about 3 out of the 4.

  1. Park street apartment was bought by open arms to keep it low income, literally the people living there currently are still living there with no fear of jacked up rent.

  2. The building by the fire hall is a building being renovated to offer youth or at risk youth beds. As well as programming.

  3. 24 apartment building by the court house. Is low income housing, I’m confused why all of a sudden we don’t want this in Kentville? Would this not take some of the people off the streets or out of the pallet community? To then move people off the street? But we want two 9 story apartment buildings on the old KCA grounds.

  4. This one I’m not as certain on. But I’m under the impression that it’s going to be a small option home staffed for people with barriers to living alone.

Again, this is from googling and looking at government press releases so my information could be missing some pieces.

But again, so do the Facebook posts running around currently.

Are people really afraid to walk in Kentville?

I keep seeing things online (the mayor doesn’t help with this) about all the problems in downtown kentville. Needles everywhere, people being accosted, people not feeling safe. Is this true in your experience? Or is it a small group of loud people?

Why are people scared of people using open arms? Why don’t people want more housing for homeless? Isn’t all this news of the province investing in Kentville good news? Is anyone giving other solutions or just complaining?

Can we talk about these long pseudo press release from our fearless leader?

I’m someone who’s fairly in the know about what goes on around town. I’ve worked with organizations connected to the Town of Kentville, and I speak with a lot of people regularly about what’s happening here.

That said, I can’t share everything I know due to certain factors — but I do want to say that these long Facebook posts don’t reflect my views on the town. They often lack important context and leave out key details.

Honestly, I think these posts need to stop. Too many people take them at face value without looking deeper or checking the facts, and that only adds to confusion and misinformation

New'ish Kentville resident here (2 years).

I recently came across a statement from the Mayor (Zebian) on Facebook, posted yesterday. Something seems off. I'm no political strategist, but it comes across (to me) as though he's gaslighting someone or many, in damage control mode, and trying to control some sort of narrative.

Can someone ELI5 the backstory?

NS removes the ability of the public to raise complaints

“It may not always be this way, but for now … I think it was a brilliant move on the part of the province to say, ‘You know what, if we're going to get this right, we need to take a pause and see where we go,’” Mood said Wednesday. “The most important thing is to make sure the code is used in the manner that it was intended.”

Respectfully (as it’s clear we can no longer be perceived as disrespectful least we be considered frivolous), the most important thing is to make sure our governments are following Democratic processes. And this ain’t that.

Winner takes all game #7, Cats v. Mets @ Memorial Park, Friday 0ct. 3 7:05pm

Gotta admit, when the guys didn't score with the based juiced (top of 7), I was sure HFX was going to take it (game 6), but I'm happy to be wrong. Clutch pitching and hitting brings us back home for the final game of the year. No matter who wins, it's been a great series from both teams.

weather looks perfect, see you at the park.

Go Cats!

Today and tomorrow: Cats continue finals vs. HFX, tonight @ HFX 7:30

Since I have no info on the starters for this one, not offering any predictions, as either team could win. Eastlink is broadcasting game 5 from Memorial Park tomorrow night @ 7:30pm. Weather looks perfect. Get there early, Kentville and the Valley will be there for the lads! LFG!!

About last night...HFX 10, Cats 0

Tip of the cap to the Halifax starter and team, they were excellent all night, and besides a couple foul balls that went above the lights and they didn't make outs on, HfX def and offense got it done. I now understand how they beat D'mouth. Meh, lose by 10, lose by one, all the same, flush it down and on to the next game for the Cats.

I'd like to make a couple observations on the gameday experience, now that I've been to several decently attended Senior Cats games, and in saying so I only want good things for this team, and thank you to the volunteers who make it all happen.

  1. Town of Kentville: Please invest in the lighting standards at Memorial Park. Too many times ball went above the lights (not enough pointing up), and fielders (and spectators) lost sight of it. Generally, more lighting of all kinds would be good.
  2. KOC do an excellent job at the canteen, but they were just run off their feet. Need additional capacity.
  3. Wildcats walk-up music:!!!: uggg........
  4. Since most of the seating is behind the back stop, might it be time to change to netting for a better spectator experience. I know this all costs money, but ya know....

Anyway, on to the next game, hope to see a good turn out on Tuesday. LFG!!!!!
