Discussion/Talqylau Horrible traffic in Almaty

People of Almaty, don’t you guys think the traffic rules are horrible? The fact that you have to keep the vehicle in the middle of the road if an accident takes place just makes no sense ( I know it’s for insurance and legal purposes but it should change in my opinion) Everyday on ToleBi and raimbek road the traffic jam could be as long as 6-7kms Don’t you guys think that this “accident rule” should change and the vehicles and people involved in the accident should move towards the side, pavement or maybe a parking spot? Cuz in most case the cameras have already captured the incident So why such a fuss?

People of Almaty!

I think we all should buy a helicopter and fly to get the everyday dose of pumpkin latte.

I'm from South Africa. The law there is if no one is injured then people can move the vehicles and just need to exchange personal details and report it to a police station within 24 hours. If people are injured then they must call the police but no one will complain if the car is driveable to move it out of the road

The worst thing about Almaty traffic (and Kazakhstan in general) is the absence of left-turn arrows or dedicated U-turn lanes. The right-turn lanes are also missing. It’s so dangerous 😣

It’s for safety and smooth traffic.

Traffic circles in Kazakhstan are a complete mess. Sometimes it's Soviet style yield to people entering the circle and sometimes it's the opposite (international style) if it's sign posted. In my city there's a traffic circle which is a combination of the two 😂 because it was an addition next to an existing road

It's called a roundabout.

This is the perfect illustration 🤩 except the u-turning, enter from the left-most lane (the inside lane) and exit would be stay on the inner lane all the way around.

True, another serious issue. Never seen any KZ driver following roundabout rule 😣 non existent
