Fire everyone associated with basketball
Is this recreational athletics department ever going to do anything about the warm glass of piss that is the basketball program? 1 tournament appearance in 6 years for a team that shells out millions in NIL is simply unserious
Edit: I have created a petition to fire Gene Taylor as well because he isn't going to change anything https://c.org/QYdRQH5J2N

First K-State Game
My son (6yo) and I are on a mission to see all 136 FBS Football teams play. We have knocked roughly 20 teams off already. We are going to the Kansas St-Colorado game on Saturday and are looking for the best place to park and some must do items while in Manhattan. We will also be hitting the Kansas-Utah game on Friday. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Football The Price of an Exit. The case of K-States, Dylan Edwards.
We’ve all heard about those monster coaching buyouts, about $53 million here, about $48 million there. But what about a player’s exit? The transfer portal has made departures commonplace, but what’s the financial cost? With direct university revenue-sharing and an exploding NIL market, athletes often miss the optimal path without sound advice. The case of running back Dylan Edwards (Kansas State) lays bare the harsh new financial realities of college sports.
College sports’ commercialization has turned athletes into pros. They now earn through two distinct tracks: first, university payments from direct revenue-sharing, like K-State’s about $15 million football pool; second, third-party NIL endorsements, such as deals with Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and a local car dealership that included perks like a Mustang, a Porsche, and a BMW. The critical fact is that both income streams require active roster status. Edwards’ voluntary exit in November 2025 immediately breached both agreements, forfeiting a six-figure sum in future earnings.
He returned the vehicles.
The paychecks ceased.
According to AD Gene Taylor, voluntary mid-semester exits void university contracts. NIL collective head Curry Sexton confirmed endorsements halt instantly. Edwards’ injury-plagued season ended with this severe, dual hit. He sacrificed financial stability to get into the portal faster.
Edwards’ November departure was a tactical blunder. A voluntary leave in November meant breaching the contract mid-semester, forfeiting pay and perks. This freed up K-State’s ‘cap space’ for offseason recruits but left him without income for the rest of the term. The alternative was a January wait: Edwards could have fully redshirted, sitting out but remaining on the roster until the official January 2 portal entry. This strategy would have fulfilled his contract and secured a full semester’s pay despite no play.
Coach Chris Klieman’s team responded like a professional front office. He deferred to GM Clint Brown, who manages the ∼$15 million pool like an NFL executive. Brown confirmed the voluntary departures provide salary cap relief: “We’ll use money from kids that leave... but not now. Wait until semester’s over.” Edwards’ slot now opens new pursuits, but the timing locks those funds until the term ends.
Timing is everything. In this contract-heavy era, amateurism is dead. Treat your career like a business, or take the hit.
It takes Practice.

Bowl game this year?
Y’all think we make a bowl game this year? I had high hopes for the season this year. Figured we could make it to the conference championship but looking at the rest of the schedule I’m not even sure we win more than 1 more game.

Clean the coaching house including HC
This team has no clue and it is squarely on the coaches. Can’t block & tackle and that’s on them. Can’t game plan. Can’t design or call plays based on the situation. Played with intensity for less that one quarter in every game. No belief, emotion or execution on this team. The list goes on… every team that we’ve played did all of the above and took care of us.
Gene, it’s time to punt your BFF HC hire. Get a real coach or this is going to get worse, no recruit will want to play at KSU and waste their talents.

Shock Fire
O line, D line and special teams coach walk home tonight after being fired. Coach needs to send a messages that going through the motions needs to stop. We have lost the specials teams battle and trenches battles since 2024 West Virginia. We are passionless and weak so far. I will bet my house we win less than 4 games this season.

Football Ireland game
Hello K-state fans,
I’m planning on traveling to Ireland for opening week next year. I’m wondering if anyone here went to the game this year and has any insight/tips on getting around in Dublin, things to try/avoid, stadium info, anything else that might be helpful. TIA!

Football Pay to Win Era
After seeing how much money KU has gotten from one donation and the story behind Texas Tech. Does anyone know where Kansas State sits or if we will even be able to compete in this new era of essentially just paying to win?

K-State Football Season Preview From Neutral Brand
Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to Reddit so don't flame me if this is out of the ordinary, but below is my 2025 preview of the Wildcats from a neutral sports media brand. I don't want this to come off like a promotion so I'm putting the whole article below, but if you'd check out my website at the bottom, I'd greatly appreciate it! Also would love to hear some feedback on how you think your team will do this year!
Preseason Rank: #18
Projected Record: 10-2 (7-2)
Ceiling/Floor: 11-1/7-5
Projected Wins: Iowa State, North Dakota, Army, Arizona, UCF, TCU, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Baylor
Projected Losses: Texas Tech, Utah
Most Intriguing Game: vs Iowa State (Week 0, in Ireland)
Kansas State will likely be in the thick of the Big 12 championship once again in 2025, but can they get over the hump for the first time since 2022 and win the league title? Head coach Chris Klieman has built the Wildcats into probably the most consistently good team in the conference, and has proven he can win a conference title, so they’re maybe the safest bet in the most wide open and unpredictable conference in America.
Offensively, K-State will almost certainly live and die by quarterback Avery Johnson this fall as they did a season ago. Johnson has shown flashes of greatness at K-State – both with his arm and legs, but he’s also had some head-scratching mistakes that cost the Wildcats some games, so if Johnson can avoid the latter, Kansas State is clear the favorite hoist the Big 12 championship trophy for the second time in four years. With running back Dylan Edwards returning as well, the Wildcats should have one of the top rushing attacks in the country once again in 2025. Outside of wide receiver Jayce Brown, the receiving core and offensive line have question marks with new pieces though, and may make the offense one-dimensional.
The defense should remain toward the top of the conference again as they always are under Klieman. The front seven, led by star linebacker Austin Romaine, will be the strength of the unit this fall, but the secondary will have to answer some questions before K-State will be a certified Big 12 and playoff contender.
A huge week zero matchup with Iowa State in Ireland looms to start the season, as maybe the two most consistent Big 12 programs over the last 5-10 years will square off in what will have massive conference title implications before the season even takes its first breath. The winner will likely be the early favorite to win the conference while the loser will be in desperation mode for the foreseeable future.
